We were enchanted by the atmosphere of the restaurant, so we decided to go to kvam for dinner. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The service was very nice, but she didn't speak English well, we ordered tartar as an appetizer and two grilled ribs as a main course. The waiter brought us an appetizer and only one grilled rib (fortunately only once). The tartare was tasteless, but we ate it ok. Ribs completely dry and tasteless, in the English menu on your website it was written that there are also 3 sauces that we did not get and especially the price was completely different. In the English menu there is grilled sparerib in bbq glaze with baked potatoes, bacon, onion and three sauces for 55zł, but we got the ribs with potatoes only, for 69zł. so why do you have 2 different options in english and polish menu? we paid €43 for two mixed drinks and an appetizer, we didn't eat the ribs at all and left hungry the price would not be a problem as long as we ate well and...
Read moreMy girlfriend had pierogi ruskie, I had the lamb burger. Her dumplings tasted like they were spoiled, very sour. The waiter told us that's how they're supposed to taste and that he could only exchange for the same thing. My burger was cooked well but it was a bit heavy on the spices and the bun wasn't fresh. When I went to pay the young woman I told her I shouldn't have to pay for the pierogi. She said she could not remove anything from the bill while making a sour face at me. We wouldn't eat here again. On the way out while she cleaned off the full plate of pierogi from our table she made eye contact and was smiling. The Tatras will be around forever. This restaurant is lucky to survive if they keep serving poor quality food at high prices while disrespecting patrons. Now comes the generic reply from them, thank you for your review and we hope you give us a chance again. You blew your chance. I hope someone goes any other place to eat in...
Read moreFood: maybe it was our Latvian taste, but ribs had strange flavour. Not like they were dry, just strange. However, potato pancakes were bland, dumplings were fine and pasta (the only pasta they have is creamy chicken pasta) was mediocre. Our company of 7 people rated food at 3.7/10 on average.
Service: the waiter was kind, energetic and knew English, which is nice considering the fact that it is somewhat difficult in Poland to communicate in English. THERE WAS A WEIRD MOMENT, when we asked for bill in euros and the waiter confirmed that they take euros, BUT they converted 520.00 PLN bill into 137€, which is false, because 520.00 PLN = 119.58 € (according to PLN price in 05.02.2024), so we payed with zlotys. Maybe it was planned as a tip and conversion fee, but I doubt it is a good practice not to inform clients beforehand.
Atmosphere: traditional design with modern...
