Karczma Ciupaga — Restaurant in Zakopane

We went there on 3rd August in the evening because of Google ratings. Unfortunately our experience with this restaurant was not the best. We've waited 35 min. before getting the starter and 15 more minutes to get the main dish. Our waitress was not too enthusiatic about providing service, where both her colleagues seemed to be much friendlier. When my food arrived (trout), i needed to wait 2 more minutes for the potatoes. My friend ordered the fries with cheese, which they seemed to forgot. For 4 beers, 2 main dishes and one starter we've paid 207 zł, which seems quite a lot compared to other reastaurant we've been. The only bathroom had no paper towels to dry your hands nor a working air blower.

The only positive thing was, that the food was quite tasty. So I dont know what was going on in the background, if they had too few waitors or chefs this day.

Oh, and if you think about trying the IPA: it is very very fruity and very hoppy (not an IPA...

We enjoyed a very pleasant light lunch / snack here over the Easter weekend.

We ordered the regional delights mixed board which contains potato pancakes, the regional grilled cheese, lard, pickles and bread. The potato pancakes with garlic and herb butter were a surprising delight - we really liked them! Less of a fan of the lard, but that’s not their fault, more just a matter of personal taste.

We also had a hot beer and a hot cider, which were nice (possibly a little too hot when they arrived, almost scalding, which I loved but my partner didn’t!)

The staff were friendly and responsive. On the whole a nice enough place to stop for...

I was there last night. Food was great. Really good Kwaśnica, even better Placek Zbójnika, awesome local beer. When You visit restaurant food is 50% of the whole experience and another 50% is the staff, and the ambience of the place, and I need to say all of the waitresses have smile on their face, and Ola, the waitress which was serving me was apsolutely excellent. She did greet me with Her amazing smile, didn't have a problem to find the table for me (which wasn't easy elsewhere last night) very friendly, and went extra mile to meet my requirements (I can't eat mushrooms). Overall...
