SOPA karczma — Restaurant in Zakopane

Problem with this place is that it used to be a very traditional Podhalan restaurant. I used to eat here as a kid with my parents. Now it is a fusion restaurant and it is not advertised as such. The food is tasty and served in an extremely beautiful form. But it is neither traditional, nor spectacularly tasty. The dish sizes are average and maybe even to small for a foodie person. The staff is extremely kind, but we had to wait for some time to order eventhough the place was not ful. Atmosphere is great! The wooden hut with a chimney looks magical. This place is very children friendly. It has kids menu and little indoor playground in the basement with a nursery room. Overall, I can recommend this place, but more as a general fancy restaurant not a traditional...

Fantastic Traditional Polish Cuisine!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with beautiful Polish decor that creates an authentic feel. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we felt comfortable throughout our meal.

The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was full of rich, traditional flavors, just like homemade Polish cooking. The pierogi were perfectly soft and flavorful, the żurek soup had the perfect balance of sourness and seasoning, and the bigos was simply outstanding. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared.

If you're looking for an authentic Polish dining experience, this place is a must-visit. I highly recommend it and can't wait...

A lovely restaurant full of pine furniture with cushions on the inside, v necessary after a day's hiking! We'll priced food. Friendly service, with English spoken. Outdoor seating available. A biggish car park. We had duck with mango and sweet potato puree, lamb shank with traditional cheese topped moussaka. The duck had better flavour and the lamb was a bit plain. Beef and chicken soup with noodles tasted authentic, definitely not from a stock cube. The chocolate fondant was excellent. It oozed when you cracked into it and the vanilla ice cream had vanilla pod seeds in it, so was a good one! They have craft beer.
