U Wnuka — Restaurant in Zakopane

I came with my Polish wife and we loved the place, we've had the best food in Zakopane in the 3 days we've been here.

Żurek was one of the best zureks I've ever had. Also had Bigos (delicious), some pierogi (very nice ones) and some mountain dish we've never had before: mushrooms, cheese and bacon on a very thick potato pancake. Really good, but we almost explode after trying to finish it :D

Getting away from the main street was the best idea we've had in these 3 days. The prices are not cheaper than other restaurants in the area but the quality is easily double.

Don’t judge due to good reviews, Average food :(

The restaurant has lots of good reviews on Google however I guess it’s due to its existence from a long time. Also if you will read recent reviews, you will understand why this place is average!

There is no soul to food and very average experience for service. Staff are busy talking to each other and no eye contacts. Didn’t even asked for courtesy if we liked the food!

Pretty disappointing. The service was very slow and the food felt average to below average, not in it's entirety (the mulled wine was excellent), but there was a lot that could have been better, especially considering the somewhat high prices. Overall, our experience wasn't terrible, there's far worse, but it was significantly better in other nearby reataurants. In the end, I'm sorry to say it, but we can't recommend...
