Stodoła — Restaurant in Zakopane

We stopped here with friends while visiting Zakopane. My friends really hyped up the shashlik (shish kebab) so I wanted to try it here. I've ordered the lamb shashlik which was marked as halal in the menu. When the food arrived, my shashlik had pork in between the lamb pieces which prevented me from trying it. If they were to label it correctly, I wouldn't have wasted the time it took for it to arrive - mine arrived last. Couple of my friends ordered the steak which was very chewy and the well done was more medium rare. Since I was really hungry after a hike, one of my friends offered me some of his steak . I tried to eat it - lord knows I tried but it was chewy like toffee. I didn't spit it out because I didn't want to waste food. I ordered the lamb kafta which was another mistake. Hopefully it didn't have pork in it. Potatoes and the tahini sauce was good but I couldn't finish the kafta. My girlfriend ordered the moskol which was good. (I guess stick with potatoes). We ordered drinks which we were happy with also. Server was nice but there was a language barrier with English for sure. One of my friends spoke Polish and prevented me from receiving shashlik, which is all pork, instead of the "halal" lamb...

Since years I'm a regular guest in this restaurant. I was looking forward each time, before starting holidays, to join that restaurant. Today I was in and ordered the pork sirloin marinated..... I was rather disappointed.....it was almost the half of meat than it was in January....but the price is the same.... Staff very young....often on their mobiles instead of being attentive on their guests.... I liked the home made salad a lot....but the choice is lower than before....no tomatoes anymore...taste is less as it was before.... Today is the first time, that I'm not fed up....in spite of side dishes....quality and taste is decreasing.....unfortunately.... but the prices each time increasing.... It's a pity..... I got to get used another quality...feeling is like in an fast food restaurant... Tea.....6 Euro.... Thinking about coming back when I'm next time in Zakopane.....there are a lot of alternatives in Zakopane.... You just feel, that Stodola is under Watra.....making fast money.....with suffering of quality.... I feel so sorry for that...

Food was okey for a tourist. I took pasta carbonara and it was al dente homemade pasta but it didnt taste anything. But it was alot of food and served in a pan nicely! I didnt like it alot.

Wife took fish, she got only a fish.. nothing else no sides no fries or potato. She liked the fish but its wierd that they dont ask for sides since its included. If u dont specify it they will not get u anything. They should ASK FOR what u want. Every place ive been to ask ”u want fries, rice potato etc” this places probably saves money because u dont specify it urself.. wierd.

Server was good and friendly anyways but they should ask what sides u want since its included but if u not specify it u wont get it 😂 ! Funny bears, mariuana beer is recommended if u are a pothead it taste like a bud and its funny and good.

Overall decent place in middle of ”town square”. Just be ready to specify ur sides or u wont get any. If u order a steak u will only get a stake and nothing else if u...
