Karczma u Fiakra — Restaurant in Zakopane

Never been treated so RUDELY in my whole life! Today at 8pm I went to this place, because google research told me it's a good place for food with a decent rating. I went inside and found one waitress sitting and drinking something near to the exit, which obviously, if you need to drink, please do, she said it's ok for me to sit at the table, and I have seen one outside, which just vacated by a family. The table was not cleaned, dirty plates there, even tho there was like 3 waitresses attending that part of the restaurant. I sad down, waiting for anyone to clean the table and hand over the menu. Been pretty hungry, though that as always someone will attend ASAP, since before this place I've been always treated great in other restaurants. The waitress in very short black hair passed by two times, seen me, didn't react. When she passed third time, and I asked if she could give me a menu, assuming, that somehow someone will also assist the table and at least remove dirty plates. The answer was - you should not sit at the table with dirty plates. And it was told so loudly and rude, that half of people sitting there turned and looked at me. I felt so bad about it I wanted to call the manager. Not only the table after 10 min of me sitting there was still dirty with dirty plates and cups on, but apparently, it was MY FAULT to sit at the only vacant table... A couple that was sitting next to me was also waiting to be served(they apparently were waiting for way longer than me for the menu), once they heard the waitress speaking to me like this, they turned and said - we're going and not ordering here, please you go as well, she was very rude to you. Now, I think that even if one has a bad day, there's NO WAY that one has to be rude during working hours. So, if you're hungry for a good food and service - don't come close. Choose good places, which are plenty, but NOT this...

Tourist scam!!! Definitely avoid this place!!! We ordered cabbage soup for the wife and "Stew potato pancakes" for me, but the waiter messed up the order and brought me "Potato pancakes". I immediately complained about the order, the waiter apologized that he left the bad food on the table with the words "its for free". In the end, I asked for the bill (108 zlotys - photo), I gave him a tip - I said 120 zlotys. Payment was by card! The clerk entered the amount into the payment terminal and I paid it. Even outside the restaurant, I received a message from the bank that they had withdrawn more than €36...which I didn't think because I know that the exchange rate in the bank was approx. €1=4.42 zlotys (120/4.42=€27.14)... so he charged me €9 more!! I went back to the restaurant and wanted an explanation. I knew from the appearance that the chef knew what he had done wrong. The first mistake was not giving me as a customer the option to choose payment in the local currency or in Euros! The second and even bigger mistake was that he gave a payment of 148 zlotys!!! 148-108...a difference of 40 zlotys, that was approx. the price of the food that he ordered incorrectly to the kitchen and he would probably have to...

We used to visit this restaurant regularly when we came to Zakopane, but after the last visit, we won’t be returning.

There was no warmth in the greeting, and to place an order, we had to catch the attention of a passing waiter. The service was inattentive and indifferent.

We ordered several dishes, including the pork knuckle. When it arrived, it looked pale, and upon cutting it, we found bloody spots inside. We asked the waiter if this was normal. He took the dish to the kitchen and returned with the same one, claiming everything was fine and that those spots were just fat. When we asked how to eat it, he said the pig was slaughtered at that spot, hence the bloody marks. He didn’t explain how to eat it. Even if you’re not ready to eat it, you’ll still be forced to pay.

The staff seemed clearly tired and unprofessional but still enjoyed discussing and staring at the guests.

The quality of the food and service is completely out of line with the prices, and customer concerns are clearly disregarded here. I strongly do not recommend...
