Marisqueira da Barra — Restaurant in Ílhavo

went for dinner at this restaurant , looked nice but WAS empty , .. i been told that the tables close to the window where full … but on the interior of the restaurant i could be offered a table ..or they would offer me a table on my desire area ,…but close to the door and would be windy and very cold. … my friend wanted to be in that area ..so she said ok …. after. a few minutes the waiter came to me ..sweating and asked if i wanted to move to a more sheltered table ., the restaurant was empty and stood empty ….. no one came to the restaurant by the time we where there..this kind of attitude is completely unacceptable , discriminatory and xenophobic ..i live in london and have travel the world ..is sad this kind of situations only occur in portugal …makes me sad .

but been Portuguese i need to expose places like this , just should never be open to public … like i said .. i am Portuguese and my friend Ukrainian and i had to constantly ask apologies...

Dia 20 de agosto tivemos um jantar de família neste restaurante não foi a primeira vez que lá fomos jantar todos juntos mas desta vez fizemos um juramento que nunca mais vamos lá, sendo que foi vergonhoso a atitude dos funcionários. Foi uma pouca vergonha, tivemos que ser nós a pedir para nos retirar o prato cheio das cascas do festival do marisco, estávamos ainda a jantar quando um dos funcionários começou a fazer gestos para nos entregarem a conta e trouxeram nos a carta das sobremesas com um ar arrogante. Pedimos café e os funcionários começaram a sentar se para jantar algo que não nos incomodou porque nós ainda estávamos consumir e já tinha passado um pouco a hora de fecho. Qual é o nosso espanto atrás da nossa mesa tinha uma escadas em caracol e um dos cozinheiros(facilmente identificado) foi subir as escadas a bater com os pés nos degraus e depois a descer veio a saltar a fazer imenso barulho enquanto os outros funcionários se estavam a rir todos. O mesmo sentou-se e gritou não me pagam o subsídio dê alimentação nem horas extra! Não sei se a falta do patrão não estar no local levou a este episódio porque encontravam-se um grupo muito jovem e um pouco incompetente, sendo que nas outras vezes nunca aconteceu isso sendo que estavam pessoas mais “velhas”...

Couldn’t ask for anything better! I mean from the service itself, always with a smile, and the best part was knowing what was best for us, no matter what we were asking…

The food was great, I mean that was of the best Polvo à lagareiro that I ever had.

The lavagante was phenomenal just brilliant, well cooked and damn tasty, and the sauce was the final touch that just nailed it.
