My girlfriend and I had been recommended this restaurant by a couple of people from London and Hong Kong. A Sardinha did not disappoint one bit. The setting was incredible. Something out of any holiday recommendation guide. A restaurant on the most picturesque private beach with quintessential algarve cliffs and azure waterfront interfaces and a magnificent view of the sunset. The staff were so enthusiastic and helpful. They helped us curate the most perfect seafood meal to suit our tastes. The food was absolutely sublime. With the ambiance and the service, we had the most perfect evening. Afterwards, we went onto the beach to listen to the waves and gaze at the full moon. As we got ready to leave, my girlfriend realised her phone was missing. Despite the fact that it was late (around midnight), the entire waiting staff and the restaurant owner helped us scour every corner of the beach with torches in the dark, for nearly an hour. My girlfriend was on the brink of tears when finally, the owner found her phone in the ocean. It was fine. After the commotion, the waiters all sat with us and gave us a couple of rounds of drinks on the house. It was simply the best service I have ever had in a restaurant, from some of the most good natured people in the business. I wish them another 47 years of excellence and success.
God bless you Alberto, David, Ruben, Gabriel and Rodri! All of you and the rest of the team...
Read moreBy far the worst beach bar/restaurant on the Algarve and we've been to a lot!! Purely down to the appalling attitudes of the staff. Incredibly rude and disrespectful to paying customers. We've been twice in the last week. The first time ordered ice creams and cocktails. The rude woman behind the bar muttering away in Portuguese about why people have to order cocktails when they take too long. Clearly wrongly assuming we can't speak or understand the language. Very slow service and I'd add that we were the only ones waiting to be served. Went again today to get drinks to take back on the beach, asked for the cocktail menu once we were eventually acknowledged. Got a huff and a point towards a small chalkboard. I asked for the proper menu like we had the other day and without a word the woman stormed off and came back with one, threw it in front of me before walking off again. Clearly not in any better mood to make cocktails for would be paying customers! In the end we just left. Such a shame for a restaurant that is predominately visited by tourists in high season with beautiful views, utterly spoilt by rude disrespectful staff who would be best placed in jobs out of...
Read moreSo disappointed. This was a regular spot for us for quite a few years back, always fantastic never disappointed. After being away for a number of years we were so looking forward to dining here again. Unfortunately the service was non existent on our arrival (it wasn't even busy) not even a hello or boa noite from any of the staff. Eventually we got some attention, we were told we had to read the menu board and be quick as they were going to be busy!!! We had already booked our table so we hadn't just turned up unexpected. I asked could we go to our table and they were so arrogant towards us. I couldn't believe their attitude. On reflection we should have realised that they were very flippant when we had called in to book the table a few days before. It was so bad that we decided to leave and again they were completely sarcastic with their goodbyes. Such a shame, beautiful location pity about the unprofessional staff very disappointing I certainly wouldn't recommend it. We were actually looking to book a very large party there so thankfully that's a lucky escape. Will bring the business to where its...
