Visited for lunch today - 3 adults 1 Child, arrived about 1.30pm looking to order some lunch, from the off the staff looked like they didn’t want us there; maybe this is when we should have left! We were seated at a table and given the dinner menu, I politely asked for the lunch menu to which we were advised we couldn’t sit where they placed us as this was only for lunches and we had to be moved to the ‘snack area’ to get the actual lunch ‘snack menu’; so we moved no issues as we wanted a light lunch not a heavy dinner. It took them a while to come take our order, drinks were asked at end of food order instead of while choosing from the menu, strange. We had grilled chicken wrap, 2 x burgers and kids fish fingers, all came with fries, I also asked for a small vanilla ice cream to come out at the same time as the food, the look of disgust from the staff member when I asked for this was shocking. It took at least 45mins for the food to come out only for it to be cold as if it had been sitting waiting to be brought to the table, it also came from the lunch kitchen by the lunch only seating area! They never asked if we wanted salt, vinegar or ketchup etc we had to ask 3 times for it! There was plenty of staff members available so not as if they were short staffed. Food in all was ok would have been nicer at the right temperature, burger looked pink inside but only noticed after majority had been eaten. We then weren’t ask if we needed drinks topped up or new drinks, to be honest this is very poor as it is table service no bar to be able to get a drink yourself and staff seemed to avoid our area. To make matters worse when we eventually got the bill and went to pay by card their card machine would not accept any of our bank cards, we all had mastercard debits from our respective banks and have been using perfectly fine since arriving in Portugal; the staff advised there was an ATM nearby and that we would need to try there first. Thankfully I managed to lift cash on the 2nd attempt from there as it also didn’t work first time round. The staff couldn’t have been more unhelpful, telling us it was my card that was the issue when in-fact it was their machine. Read moreWe checked menu online today and came to the restaurant. The items were limited so we asked about the menu we saw online. The waiter suggested we check the bar menu saying that’s a separate area with a separate menu. The bar menu then did not have the items we wanted to order from the restaurant. We were told we can order from both menus in the bar area but only from the restaurant menu in the restaurant. We were also told the big water on the menu was available only for takeaway. I asked for the manager to explain to us the confusion about different menu online vs two separate menus and areas and the water. I said this was very confusing to us as we checked the online menu gifts and that I do not understand why an item on the menu would only be sold to go without any such clear labelling. The manager was very rude. She behaved like this was my fault of not understanding simple rules while failing to see that someone has clearly not updated the menu online since last year. It was me to make a logical guess and ask if this used to be one restaurant. Even then the manager was unable to offer apologies or a solution like taking us back to a restaurant and offering a drink to compensate for the confusion like any decent restaurant manager would do. Very bad experience while in the heat and sun trying to get lunch and a cooling drink. Not updating your menu for a year does not sound like a diligent offering to your customers. Read moreArriving without reservation and being received by what looks to be the lead receptionist arguing with a waitress that made a mistake by moving a couple to a reserved table and was not keen to learn and following the indications of the very polite and respectful dark lady (which I assume was the lead receptionist) and all this in front of other clients waiting to be served. this is very unprofessional and rude. After ordering my menu I had to be repetitive asking where was the olive oil for the sardines, the bread, the WiFi password only to notice that the couple on my left side were given their dishes and the lady noticed a hair in her plate. When they finished they left and did not report anything after she confirmed to her husband that they apparently brought her another dish that "didn't look the same". To recommend this place considering only the politeness of the said dark receptionist is not enough. The taste of the food could be a lot better but the quantities are all right. I had to inform you about this situation to see if the management clearly understands that their customers cannot be treated with so much disrespect. And there should be clearly an order of service to be followed with courtesy between all employees which was not clearly the case here.
