Le Club Algarve — Restaurant in Albufeira

I’ll start with the good: The butter that comes with the bread was amazing. We couldn’t stop eating it. The picanha was nice and juicy, the fries were crisp and hot. The cocktails were incredible, perfect amount of alcohol. And the Santa Eulalia roll was very tasty. The atmosphere is really nice, and most tables are well shielded from the wind.

The bad: the food came way too fast. We got the bread and not even two minutes later they were serving us the food. We didn’t even have our drinks yet. So the meal was not well paced. We wanted to enjoy a bit of our drinks and bread but literally couldn’t cause the food arrived so fast and we didn’t want the meat to get cold so we just ate. I don’t know how they prepared everything so fast, it’s almost as if they had it pre made? We were a bit confused with that. We ordered the bluefin nigiri and they were so skimpy on the fish. That was disappointing, especially for the price. You could barely taste the fish with how thin it was (picture attached).

Great vibe and incredibly welcoming and charming staff. A good menu for food and cocktails. Not cheap but then it’s a really high-end, classy venue and an excellent spot overlooking the bay.

Clientele are a curious mix. Plenty of those that like to be seen in cool places but equally welcoming to families and ate there with my young family a couple of times during our stay. Return visit we were welcomed like old friends.

There was a DJ later at night but was not intrusive if you just wanted a chat over a cocktail.

Definitely worth visiting and the best venue we found in the town....

Get the table right by the view to the ocean. Doesn't get much better than that 👌 Food was good but pricey. Drinks were excellent. Not sure the food lived up to the price point, but good enough, and location + atmosphere is sublime. Small heads up to the staff : the "fireworks" are fun and probably nice when it's a club, but they spray small pieces of sand across the table and into food and drinks, so maybe keep them off doing...
