Churrasqueira Sol Nascente — Restaurant in Albufeira

17th August 2018. Having recently moved into the Algarve I thought I had found a real gem. However tonight must have topped one of my worst experiences in eating out. The table servers are pleasant enough. But three meals we ordered only one turned up on our table after 25 minutes and the other two didn’t turn up at all . We gave up in the end. Now any good restaurant in the U.K. would have lost the cost of the first meal with huge apologies. But not this restaurant. No. Not only did they charge for every single thing we had but even charged for a small lollipop our grandchild took a fancy to . ... appalling service , bad customer attitude, with no idea of how to appease a very disgruntled client. MUITO BOM!!!

We got a taxi out here especially for the bacalhau a bras which did not disappoint, but we also very much enjoyed the mixed meat grill and salmon steaks. The food was delicious and the portions abundant. Neither of us could have eaten another mouthful! We ordered the Papa Figos red wine on our waiter’s recommendation and enjoyed it so much we bought a couple of bottles to take home as well. And at the end a singing waitress brought us the bill - a great convivial atmosphere in this place, well worth venturing out of the centre...

Very disappointed about this place. Of everything we ordered (group of 5) only the chicken was edible. Everything else was horrible. Bacalhau grelhado: old fish, very dry. Couldn't even eat it. Burger: served without buns. The patties were so dry we couldn't even eat it.

When I brought this up to their attention, I was told that the sell many of these and that there's never a problem. I was charged full price and that's why I'm giving it 1 star (they didn't make any efforts to...
