O Pescador — Restaurant in Albufeira

DO NOT EAT HERE. This was the worst meal my family had during our entire trip in Portugal. It is extremely expensive, low quality, and has rude service. My father and brother ordered a local fish that was recommended on the menu. Not only did the waiter not bring the fish out to the table before being cooked, they were never told how many ounces they received, and when the bill came, one total price was listed with no prices broken down, so we had no idea how much we were really charged for our meal! The fish and prawns were cold and over cooked when served, and the side salad was the only redeemable part of the meal. The waiters were not friendly with our questions, and all in all it was the most expensive and disappointing meal of our trip. There are so many wonderful seafood restaurants outside of the resort for half the price. We had much better meals elsewhere. Please don’t make our mistake and...

It was a huge disappointment especially at Christmas Eve. We read reviews when most of people were saying that their prices are crazy but food and service are excellent. The staff was really friendly and helpful (what else you do when you know that you work is a scam place for customers?) but very expensive food was average (we had much better experience at local restaurants nearby) and also tiny portions. I ordered their salmon and avocado salad, avocado was represented by a tiny spoon of avocado muss... Their fish soup is a tiny portion of broth with a lot of... pasta. They charge a lot but they have no idea about haute cuisine. they even don't have a second layer...

If you are looking for fresh fish/seafood, you won't be disappointed here. There was a great selection of fresh fish/seafood - you will find something you will really enjoy. My reason for the 4-star review, rather than a 5-star, was due to our head waiter.... He wasn't the most friendly or helpful when making our decisions on what to order - it almost seemed as if he just wanted to take our orders quick, and get us out so he could get more customers in (i was in a party of 8). All of the other staff we encountered were great - very helpful & friendly! Would recommend if you are looking for a nice...
