From start to finish, possibly the worst dining experience in the Algarve. (*On this occasion)
Poor quality, over priced food and apathetic service.
This place has gone totally down hill in terms of service and quality over the last 12 months.
The food ordered was not delivered.
The food delivered was of poor quality at a high price.
The service was complacent and indifferent.
A maximum of 30 diners were present when we were seated at our pre-booked terrace table. All had finished dining and we were the last table to be served. There was no pressure on the staff at this time either serving or in the kitchen.
Front of house is largely staffed by interns who lack experience and accountability.
So much was wrong with our experience it seems pointless writing this review since 'Hapimag Team' will offer their generic response about using local produce and using criticism constructively
We have been using Hapimag Algarve as a go to destination for a semi premium dining experience for over 15 years. Sadly now it is performing so badly that it is the worst dining experience in the wider area.
A couple of the staff managed the situation well, and Ibrahim should be comended for his professionalism and high service level.
Hopefully Hapimag Algarve will start to take notice of real criticism from genuine customers that expect more.
The finer details of our experience with the staff and food have been excluded since this review is not about finger pointing, but in all honesty it is hard to imagine a more dissapointing experience.
It is my understanding that Hapimag is closing from Oct 2023 for 2 years and for that reason the staff possibly have little interest in protecting the brand and delivering on the service level with which it is associated.
If you raise the issue with reception they just look at you blankly like you are wasting their time with your silly complaint.
This problem is not with one individual it is a problem at a senior management level. Basically they don't care and are relying on custom from their captive residential guests
Go elsewhere! Go anywhere but there. (For now)

-Ordered 2 starters (shrimp) which were much smaller than the picture provided. -3/4 steaks were overcooked, with a "rare" coming as well-done. -3/3 Pizzas were undercooked and completely tasteless (most likely frozen) They also sent an incorrect pizza originally and had to remake a new pizza. -Pasta dish was very overpriced for just pasta and a tomato sauce. -Tuna steak was good however the portion size was incredibly undersized. -The seabass was actually rather good and had an adequate serving for the price.
Additionally, all of this was after over an hour of waiting, and after asking if we could get the steaks remade we were told it would take a long time, even though only 6-7 tables were full with the rest of the restaurant being empty.
Side points: -Tap water is not provided, and drinks are very expensive. -Menu on Google maps is not the one provided and is cheaper than the actual prices. -Lastly, no compensation was offered despite the monumental failure that was their service, will not he returning, nor would I recommend to any others looking for a nice...
Read moreDisappointing experience. Portion for €12 consisted of 4 shrimps and 2 slices of stale baguette. Steak was was ordered rare by 2 people, 1 was served medium rare and the other well done steak. The inconsistency at this restaurant is completely unacceptable. Multiple customers had been outright smoking in the restaurant dining area. No compensation had been offered for the poor food that was sent out and was simply shrugged off by the staff. To add insult to injury, the wait was almost 1.5h with the restaurant at quarter capacity.
Pros- great place to burn a hole in your wallet, get heavily over- / under-cooked food, overpay for it, and especially to inhale carcinogens and tar, all while waiting well over an hour for your food.
