A very unpleasant end to our lunch. We received a very warm welcome from the waiter and had a good meal, although it was far too expensive, as you might expect in a restaurant in modern Comporta. Our waiter's shift was over while we were eating, but he took the time to say goodbye, which we greatly appreciated. When we finished eating, no one came by to clear the table or ask if we wanted anything else. There was no excuse for it being busy; only two or three tables were occupied, and there were two waitresses and an owner/manager walking around, who had every opportunity to approach us. We asked for the bill, and when I tried to pay, the waitress said there was no tip. I got very angry and said I would have tipped her colleague generously, but that I found her service poor. I've traveled the world for my international work and have been coming to the Alentejo all my life. I know how to behave as a guest and how to behave as a hostess. Not like that! Asking for tips is something you do in the USA, where staff depend on them. The way this was said is absolutely unacceptable! I always tip generously, but only if you deserve it. If you ignore me because we don't wear expensive designer clothes or anything like that and don't fit the image of the wealthy jet set, you won't see me again, and I'd rather give my money to the authentic inhabitants of...
Read moreAlmo Comporta is a truly unique and wonderful experience. This restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a relaxed and beautiful setting to enjoy delicious food and drinks.
One of the most striking features of the restaurant is the amazing big tree in the middle of the terrace. This tree provides a natural canopy that creates a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. The tree is surrounded by a variety of potted plants, which adds to the natural and organic ambiance of the space.
The restaurant's wine selection is also worth mentioning. They offer a great selection of natural wines that perfectly complement the delicious food. The beer collection is also impressive, with a range of local brews from the nearby Alentejo region.
For me, this restaurant was the perfect spot to unwind and relax in the afternoons. I loved enjoying a cold beer while watching the Cegonha-branca birds building their nests. The restaurant's terrace is a great place to soak up the sun and enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
Overall, Almo Comporta restaurant is a fantastic and offers a unique and memorable experience. The combination of the amazing big tree, beautiful potted plants, dishes, natural wine, and nearby beer collection make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone...
Read moreThe place is nice and the pastries are good. Unfortunately I was not well served, not by the people who work there, who were very friendly, but by what I believe to be the owner of the place. I was passing through Comporta and needed a place to work remotely for a few hours. She, in addition to not even looking me in the face (I won't even mention why I believe that happened), after having already consumed several things (cakes, wine, water, croissant) came to my table to say if I wanted anything else (I had just finished that second the food) because she needed the table. I felt almost forced to buy more stuff and have to get out of there. Terrible and I hope they don't do this with any other client because the feeling you get is awful. In the end there were several empty tables, only I felt bad for being...
