Colmo Bar — Restaurant in Alcácer do Sal

Very rude and aggressive staff and owner in this joint.

In a pleasantly warm summer afternoon, I was just preparing to take a seat outside. Suddenly, a man without any identifiable clothing jumps aggressively from the next table and tells me they are closed and I can't seat there.

All the other tables were full.

I said, in friendly tone, that I just wanted a draft beer.

What a mistake!

The man gets even more aggressive and tells me "we don't have draft beer!", with a slight air of digust. As if it was a sin to ask for a good old blue collar draft beer in his posh (he wishes!) bar.

But the true climax of this unpleasant experience was that, at the same time as he vocifrates "we don't have draft beer!", his employee comes behind me, looking really impatient, and literally closes the huge parasol while I'm still under it and hits my head with it!... 🤣

I guess that could be considered...

Comporta is a gentle sleepy haven, the perfect off grid relaxation spot for those looking to unwind, especially in September. Lovely restaurants and welcoming locals add to its charm but there’s no place that could be more cordially inviting than Colmo’s…

An excellent location that provides the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by accompanied by lovingly crafted cocktails that taste as good as any in the whole of Portugal…

But it’s the smiling face of the vivacious Vasco serving them that makes this place special. His exuding charm, local knowledge and island living manner make him the perfect host for pre/post/instead of - dinner drinks!
