My husband and I were staying in Folgosa and went into Pinhao for dinner. First of all, looks like everything shuts down on a Sunday. We are visiting from Canada but speak Portuguese fluently as we are originally from the Azores. They had a large group with a tour guide and we thought that if the tours stop there, it must be alright. Were we wrong! The servers hardly made eye contact with us and were so focused on the group that we were 2nd fidel. But we were so hungry we stayed. Got our food pretty quickly, we ordered a Salad to start and veal chops with potatoes o'gratin. During our salad my husband asked for olive oil....he's still waiting for it. Then the veal chops came. It would be fine if I were a lion and enjoyed red meat but I preferred my cooked. This was beyond rare. The servers never checked in with us afterwards to see if all was well. I tried to eat my way through but there was so much fat as well, it just wasn't doing it. My husband stopped one of the servers and asked for his meat to be put back on the grill. They never apologized but cheerfully brought me a bill for 31.50 Euros. I ate grilled pork chops with fries, rice, and salad with excellent white house wine and my husband had sea bass in Coimbra for 20 Euros! Highway robbery of the tourism in the...

Ok, I gues... We ordered the only vegetarian dish, grilled vegetables and rice, quite plain, no particular taste. The second thing we tasted was codfish, a portuguese speciality. I've had great bacalhau in Portugal already. Unfortunately, this one was chewy and too salty. All the side dishes (rosemary puree, bread, olives...) were nice. The whole situation was saved by very decent and cheap local wine. Overall, 15€ is too much for a dish that one can't chew. EDIT: I got a mild food poisoning, so I do not recommend the...

Came here as part of the lunch included in a Duoro Valley wine tour.

The fish dish was very tasty, as was the drunken cake for dessert. The house white wine was surprisingly good and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Did not see a menu or prices as it was chosen before arriving as part of the tour but I would think it is reasonable given there were also a few locals eating in the restaurant at the same time that...

I came here with a tour group so they had something special for us and it was bussin, frankly. It opened up with some cheese, bread, and olives as well as more wine than anyone can drink. As an entree, the sea bream was seasoned very well and the potatoes and broccoli were 👌. The drunk cake for dessert lived up to the hype that it was given. Walnut cake was pretty mid. Great vibes and love this place
