Marisqueira Atlântico — Restaurant in Almada

I have absolutely 0 clue how this restaurant can be reviewed this well. It was one of the worst experiences ever and by far the worst in Portugal. Food took ages and some of it was missing or the wrong one. They forgot soups, beers, cokes, whatever. The soup I had literally tasted like water with bread in it. There is no way there was even salt in it. My curry was so bad I litterally couldnt eat it. 6 other people on my table tried it and every single one was amazed by how they would seriously sell this as edible and I really mean it. I barely ever complain about food even if I dont really enjoy it, let alone not eat it. But this was beyond anything I've ever been served. Sure enough they would bill all the food that was sent back to the kitchen (I wasnt the only one) and even the soups they didnt bring and have been told at least 5 times not to bill. We then had to spend at least 20 minutes with the waiter to guess whats on the bill as they didnt write the name of the dishes on it. When we first arrived, a waiter came asking if we had questions about the menu. So far so good. Communication wasnt easy but eh, we can understand that. 2 mins later he comes back asking if we were ready to order. In the span of the next 6-7mins, 3 different waiters came to ask us if we were ready to order. We felt a lot of pressure.

Food was very ordinary. For the price, it wasnt worth it. We tated way better for cheaper. Food was a 2 or 3 out of 5.

BUT, I saw the most disgusting thing I ever saw in a restaurant. Our table was right in front of the washroom (no door so we could see inside). I saw one of the waiters blow his nose IN HIS HAND, rinse it with WATER (no soap) and gets out of the washroom. That is...

It was a very disappointing dinner. We could not eat a single plate till the end. The clams were nothing but sand! The waiters who asked for an order did not speak either English or Portuguese (There were other normal ones, but they came later) We said that we don’t want anything with clams but they brought us toasts which of course were to be paid separately.
