Surpresa — Restaurant in Cascais

I recently visited this restaurant with my dog, and it was a very disappointing experience. Upon entering, I was directed to sit at a table at the end, which seemed acceptable at first. However, I ended up waiting for 45 minutes before anyone came to take my order.

When the waiter finally arrived, I placed my order, including a drink, only to be told that I couldn’t sit there because it was a table for four. This was the same table they had shown me to in the first place! I was then informed that they couldn’t accommodate me anywhere else because they had no space.

The staff were rude and unapologetic, and the whole experience felt like a waste of time. This place seems to thrive on being a tourist spot, treating customers poorly because they assume you won’t return. There’s no respect for patrons, and the service is incredibly slow. Definitely not worth the visit....

We went to surpresa restaurant in a very sunny winter day. The restaurant was quite full during lunch time which usually mean that it is good. We had to wait around 5 minutes to get a table in front of the sea during a week day. I can imagine that it is fuller during weekend. It is situated in praia da poça with an amazing sea view! The waiter (Pedro Miguel) was very friendly and thoughtful. We ordered a "dourada grelhada" (see pictures), and it was a delight. It was grilled open (escalada) but it was not dry, and tasted like sea. For dessert we had a chocolate mousse and a lemon pie. Both choices were good but the lemon pie was specially good. In the end we paid with card and unfortunately we didn't have some cash with us to leave as tip (gorjeta) to Pedro Miguel. So we hope this review helps Surpresa and Pedro Miguel gain some extra...

Me and my family had the last two hours of our trip in Portugal. We wanted to spend them near the ocean and order some drinks. So we chose Surpresa restaurant. After we ordered only drinks without any food, our waiter got angry and showed disrespect to his clients. Then, they asked us to move a few times (change the tables) even though we were the only one who were asked to do so.
