Hotel São Mamede Estoril — Hotel in Cascais

Stayed here 4 nights end of sept for a wedding. It was ok priced for the time and I did just want a base and place for my bags.. thankfully ||Firstly cars can’t stop outside so I had to drag my case down the cobbly street to areive at reception, I arrived before check in, just, and my room was ready 101 on the first floor. ||Cons.|The room is basic, and I mean basic, no fridge, the bed was like my dining table, not even a glass in the room for my drinks let alone a small kettle etc. Plugs near bed and mirrors but in really awkward positions so you have to move furniture. The walls, ceilings and floors are paper thin, I could hear people above me on the toilet let’s just say. And the doors.. you have to practically slam them when you leave so there’s no chance of being quiet. The thing that annoyed me the most was the lighting! Or the lack of it, in the room there were only side lights at the bed, no ceiling light or lamp on the desk so it was extremely dark sometimes and the bathroom, no lighting near the mirror. I didn’t go for breakfast after reading other reviews so can’t comment.||Pros.|Clean and decent sized rooms. Great location for Estoril and Cascais, the wedding was at the stunning Forte Da Cruz and that was practically behind the hotel. Also fantastic for the train as that’s behind too, 40 mins into Lisbon its self. Polite enough staff didn’t really have much interaction with them. And that’s all I’m afraid ||I would personally pay a little more next time and stay somewhere a little nicer. Or if I had too, definitely ask for a high floor so you get a better view, however rooms at the back with the view of the beach, also have the train so more noise! Catch 22! Overall not a horrific stay but...

Omg i don't know where to start, first when we arrived to hotel it was 11am nobody let us in in the rooms cz i repeat what she said " you don't know that in all world check in its only 2pm?" So they just let us to leave our stuff somewhere in a coner and come back at 2pm, im ok but we have two kids and we came from Ireland, next- we bought only breakfast so every morning you eating same untasty rubish, staff members is rude except room service and one lady in reception , all other members are rude, don't save money on good hotel that was our biggest mistake to save money and go in small hotel , its a worst hotel ever. -For the staff in all world if you came to early to hotel you will get cofe , shower , and meal, and all around the world when you booking hotel you getting full info , its a hole and...

Rooms are very small, but clean. Location is ok, breakfast is very limited and the price is outrageous for the comfort. Beds are terrible.

The manager is incompetent. They gave us a broken bed for two nights, so we had no sleep. When we wanted to solve this, the manager started yelling at us that we caused this ourselves. Had a very bad week because of this, there is no talking to her. She called us liars and yelled that we wanted a free vacation. Now she'll say she wasn't yelling and we were out for money, which isn't the case. We then had bizarre mail contact, where she offered us two nights in her hotel. We will never come back here anyway and advise everyone not to spend the night here.
