Well... this a real little gem of a restaurant. Lamassa is a genuine family run, authentic Italian restaurant. The main dishes are primarily pasta based in variety of sauces of seafood, meat and tomato base. Although there are a number of items on the menu the fresh pasta is 100% home made and is probably the best in the local area and perhaps in the wider Lisbon area. The dining area is small and cosy, with limited seating but may be extended in the near future. Would highly recommend booking to ensure a table. Wine pairing is superb. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team and the high quality of the food is a real output of the hard work and dedication to serve excellent food. Prices are very reasonable and extremely good value for money. The desserts are also home made, the pistachio cheesecake was amazing. I had the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli which is shown in the pictures. Well done to Pedro and Romina for establishing one of the best Italian eateries. Best of luck for success and...
Read moreI'll start off by saying the food was very nice. We had the boar Ragu and the Ricotta ravioli and both were really well presented and definitely recommend! We've eaten a lot of pasta and it's certainly some of the nicest we've had! If you're in the area, you should definitely try it.
However... We should note that the service left a lot to be desired. It was quite cold at times. It could have been a language barrier but I don't think it was. It was just a bit 'off'. It was very busy but the lack of any sincerity came across unfriendly at times. We weren't explained the menus were on a QR code (however we worked it out) and just felt like an inconvenience. It was hard to put a finger on exactly what it was, but we had a lovelier service down the road spending 10eur on pizza. Definitely something to improve on...
Thanks for the food and...
Read moreMaybe you take this with a grain of salt, coming from an uncultured American who has never been to Italy, but overall this was a great meal. And while we make our own pasta at home by hand usually, Lamassa had that added benefit of a fresh slight chew to the pasta, with great flavors to the sauces. The carbonara was cheesy and the fried ham added nice punches of salt. I would personally prefer a touch more pepper though. The bolognese was meaty, but at the same time, lighter than expected.
While realistically I would rate them a solid 8/10 with definite opportunity to score higher if we were able to try more dishes, giving them a 4/5 seems too low.
Would recommend if you’re in the area...
