Nice little vegan cafe in the back streets of Castelo Branco. The food was great. Cánonigos soup to start (canonigos looks like water cress but less peppery, don't know the English name) with lemongrass and vegan bacon bits was delicious. The main was a chow mein with 2 sorts of mushrooms, edamame beans, bamboo shoots, served with red cabbage, beetroot salad and raw cánonigos as a garnish (2nd photo), followed by chocolate mouse with chunks of chocolate in - really well made and tasty.
The staff are lovely. They usually close at 3pm but it was 3.15 when i got there. They said they needed to wait for something so would be happy to cook for me, so nice.
The place is more than a cafe, well decorated and modern, but relaxing. There was a bowl of fruit on the counter with a sign asking people to help themselves, how nice is that.
