Pastelaria Vénus — Restaurant in Coimbra

I updated my review and decided to put 2 starts because I only have visited it once. We ordered a cake for valentines day, which we specifically asked for a black forest cake and the cake that they gave us was a plain ordinary cake that you could get from any other low quality market or low quality cake cafe, pastelaria or anywhere. A black forest cake does not have pineapple or strawberry pieces inside but a coating of cherry jam like sauce or cream with cherry pieces. They smothered the cake full of cream like more than it should have, there was more cream than an actual cake, it was basically a horrible cake. I am very much disgusted by it. Never order from them unless you know what they are making or if you have confirmed what cake they are going to present you with, getting in every detail will help you be satisfied with the cake you want. The place in itself is very pretty and presentable, it had good space, fancy looking and had other sweets...

Quem conheceu a Vénus, sabe que as pessoas não têm capacidade de análise na prestação de serviços na área restauração. Na verdade a Vénus tem, atualmente, um atendimento que deixa muito a desejar. Consequência da mão de obra barata e não qualificada. Analisando o comportamento dos funcionários, pelo menos nas duas vezes que lá me desloquei, é grosseiro, indiferente e nem sequer sabem o que é o "foco no cliente". A título de exemplo, hoje dirigi-me a esta pastelaria para tomar o meu lanche. aguardei que algum dos 3 empregados que estavam à conversa detrás do balcão se dignasse vir-me atender, até porque não vi mais alguém, tirando a funcionária da caixa registadora. Como não o fizeram dirigi-me ao balcão, olhando a pastelaria diversa. Entretanto entrou uma senhora que foi atendida! Perguntaram-lhe o que desejava e logo a seguir a dizer o pretendido, a empregada mandou-a repetir o pedido à colega que se encontrava (em parte incerta), a fazer atendimento às mesas. A senhora da caixa registadora, teve que vir atender a minha mulher, porque o senhor que estava atrás do balcão na secção de padaria, começou a atender outra pessoa que veio do exterior depois (das mesas no exterior). Anarquia, mau atendimento e antipatia. Mas será que alguém lhes fica a dever o que se adquire nesta pastelaria? Será que não haverá mais pastelarias em Coimbra com a mesma qualidade ou superior? Claro que sim! Então não recomendo esta a ninguém, havendo pela cidade, inúmeras com mais qualidade, simpatia e eficiência. Mais, o fraco atendimento é consequência dos clientes que nem sabem a o que tem direito em termos de qualidade. Aviso! Não aconselho a turistas, pois vai certamente deixar mau nome da cidade, que não tem qualquer culpa dos maus funcionários...

Excelent food but terrible service. Me and my boyfriend felt like we weren't welcome there, as if there was some kind of prejudice torwards us, and we were the only people who were asked by the waitress to pay as soon as she delivered the food. At that moment, she even asked if we were portuguese (which we are) for some reason. This level of waitering is shamefull. Other costummers were given a card to pay at the end...
