Venice Burger Covilhã — Restaurant in Covilhã

Very misleading. Hard to find and lots of local road works atm. The place looks great, menu extensive and tempting, staff kind and helpful but the food was terrible. Nothing like on the menu board, almost false description, what arrives is shocking. The Vegan Lisboa is defiantly not vegan they immediately say it’s vegetarian ( not mentioning it’s not even a burger at all) it’s reformed protein in the shape of slimy chicken lumps ??? ( soggy and soft, obviously cooked in the microwave) What on Earth is reformed protein and what vegetarian wants food that looks like gone off slimy chicken ? Basically... a burger bap One slice of tomato, tiny piece of lettuce and 3 minute slithers of onion. Uncooked burger cheese and slimy reformed protein all served cold for 10€ ! It wasn’t even edible sadly. It had no flavour what so ever. I asked the staff if they’d tried this and all said no. How can you sell food you’ve never tried yourself ?? I wouldn’t eat it for fear of becoming sick. This veggi option needs removing and another option that is edible put in its place. May I ask I point out. It’s great having happy hour with free chips, but not if they were cooked hours earlier had gone cold. Then flash re heated in the fryer. It makes hard dark brown sticks which no longer contain potato. Again not even edible.

My friend had the very simple crispy bacon option, nope not crispy at all!! Very soggy and burger not quite cooked. Again the chips were the same so his meal was also inedible. We had just come from the hospital after a long wait. Both very hungry. Sadly will never go back as it’s a great place for a beer but not for food. Thankfully the bar staff were great and gave us a refund. What a shame. It looks so promising. We left saddened and very hungry. 🍔🍔To the owners🍔🍔 Please take time to taste ALL the burgers and insure they are served hot. Chips can not be reheated hours after they were first cooked.
