3Ls restaurant recommended by 3 different people, so why not eh? You know things are to go okay when you're greeted and seated in a professional and friendly manner who've got your booking. The table 'wobble' checked whilst chatting to you and adjusted without ado. So the table has adjustable feet; a quick turn of the thumb wheel and equilibrium is restored. S&Pepper Mills full..... Good sign too. When a restaurant has proper cotton aprons for anyone ordering food on a hot stone, saving your shirt, you know there's been some thought on the preparing for the customer. Save a short story turning into an epic. The good was excellent, staff and partners face to face contact spot on, ambience excellent, and did I say already say the food was excellent? Big Fat 5 Stars for a great overall experience. This restaurant seems to have been opened in a new location after 18 months of being away. 3L's is apparently the first letter of the names of three brothers running the restaurant. The staff are SUPER friendly and fluent in English. Very helpful with the choice of wine that goes well with the food. The food itself was fabulous, especially the meat on the stone. The meat was so tender and basically would melt in your mouth. (You didn't even need to chew and could eat it with your lips). The garlic on the meat would make it even tastier when prepared on the hot stone. (The side sauces could be a bit more bold in taste but no complains). There is no shortage of good places to eat in Funchal, 3 Ls takes this to the next level. The location is perfect with plenty of space. So many of the restaurants nearby have you almost sitting on the lap of the people next to you. The staff are all attentive are care about what they are doing which is vital for the success of any young business. You wouldn't expect a relatively new business to have such a good atmosphere which is proof that this formula works Above all though the product (food and drink) is excellent. My partner had the ribs and I had the BBQ chicken, bacon and cheese. Both were wholesome, tasty and presented perfectly.
