I came to Proa Azul with my girlfriend and we really liked the dining experience. The staff is very nice and approachable, always making sure that everything is alright. I went with the Swordfish Fillet with Banana as I was very intrigued with the final result. As it turns out, it's a very interesting combination! The sweetness of the banana creates a very good contrast with the savory taste of the Swordfish. A must try for sure! Also, we were offered a taste of both traditional Madeira's wines for free, which of course was a nice surprise. Great little restaurant that has been here for over 30 years and run by the sane Madeiran family. The welcome iis great with the traditional Madeiran drink. Food is reasonably priced and is a small select menu of meats, fish salads, spaghetti bolognese etc. The sweets are delicious and they are very accommodating should you want to eat something that is not on the menu. Very disappointed with our dining experience tonight. We choose this restaurant because it looked nice and inviting & because of the choice of fish on the menu. When we arrived we received a very poor greeting & given a table right next to the entrance & asked to be moved.
