Overall we had a good experience. The staff was very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere relaxed.

We were recommend the mixed seafood platter for two and followed the recommendation. Unfortunately, the food was not that great- we received a grill platter with salmon, tuna, shrimps and two kinds of white fish next to sides of vegetables, fries and rice - all part of the standard menu item. We got a huge quantity of food which were not able to finish even tho we usually have no problem with eating restaurant portions. The fish itself was fairly dry, especially the tuna and shrimps were not nice. I did not know that shrimps can be so dry, probably frozen. The white fish was very tasty however. The vegetables were also very good, the fries were more like baked potato wedges (but tasty) and we barely touched the rice, it was nothing special and we anyway had too much food.

It would have been way better if, instead of quantity the focus would be more on quality of the individual...

We chose this restaurant after walking out of another one just up the road due to no interest whatsoever from the staff, (we sat there for 25 mins still no drink order taken.) To be honest I remember this place from last year with the parrot outside and that put us off as a gimmick. We were wrong, the staff were brilliant, and well managed. We picked from the tourist 20.50 euro menu. Starters 1 soup 1 calamari, mains 1 beef skewers 1 pork in plum (prunes) sauce. Both were delicious with potatoes and veg. The dessert was cherry cheesecake which was lovely, then a complementary Madeira wine to finish. Ordered seafood cataplana for two. We have 3 mussels between us. Four normal prawns. No squid as described, cheap seafood stick, and four tiger prawns that was uneatable. Complained to the manager the prawn was bad. He quickly took them all away from us and not even told us until we finished the rest of the dish and asked him what happens. He quietly told us the prawn was over cooked which is only part truth and the tiger prawn meat was all soft. So we ask for the bill and only when we about to pay the manager then hesitantly give us 10% off our bill. I cannot say for other dish but seafood is definitely no good and...
