Restaurante Vila de Italia — Restaurant in Lagoa

We have just eaten here for the first (and last) time having been recommended by friends and encouraged by it's 4.3* rating on Google. On arrival we thought it looked pleasant, busy and vibrant but unfortunately that is where the good news ends. We were left standing by the entrance for a good ten minutes, despite catching the eye of numerous waiters/waitresses. My better half ventured inside to enquire as to whether they might have a table for two at which point we were directed to a dirty table covered in empty glasses and wine bottles on the terrace. After another fifteen minutes or so a waiter came over to ask if everything was alright - I asked if we could possibly have some menus and have someone clean the table at which point he admonished us for sitting at a table that hadn't been cleaned! After I pointed out that we had been told by the waitress to sit there he then proceeded to admonish her for terrible service! Having had the table cleared and wiped down he then disappeared and we were left waiting for a further 30 minutes before anyone offered us a drinks or menus. The drinks arrived promptly and the food within a reasonable time - the waitress who delivered it asked if we would like some black pepper, to which we agreed, never to be seen again! Halfway through our unpeppered main course a waiter wheeled over the flambe trolley for the table behind, parking it directly adjacent to ours and leaving us struggling to breathe/eat with all the butane fumes. The food was reasonable for the price but the service was appalling. Suffice to say we skipped dessert, paid the bill as promptly as possible (going inside to do so having been left waiting yet again) never...

I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time was fairly decent although there was a 20minute wait to be seated. After being seated service was slow, when the food arrived it was average and cost more than it was worth. The pizzas were small and had bland toppings on. Later on a waiter spilt my drink all over me which was fair enough an accident but no appologies were said and no napkins were given and spillage clean up didn’t occur. The second time we must have been waiting to be seated for half an hour, we were seated right next to kitchen doors and in a dim corner. Again the service was extremely slow and everything was unorganised. We ordered bread starters which never arrived at the table?? Again the food was average. Me and my daughter were coming back to the table from the toilets and she was then aggressively grabbed and shoved by a waiter and shouted “no no no” at her (bearing in mind she is only 8) she wasn’t in the way and if so the physical abuse was unnecessary and not needed. After this she felt quite scared and confused again no appologies were used! When the bill arrived we were charged for the starter that never actually arrived? We were also asked for what drinks we ordered which i think is very unorganised. I will not be returning this overpriced average restaurant again with...

Visited the restaurant as a part of a family group of 16. Waiter came almost instantly and wanted our order, without any time to look at the menu. When we looked at the menu she just stood at the end of the table, and stressed us. But we ordered our drinks, and eventually the food. 3 of us never got our drinks, but it still got on the bill. So the food came, and let me just say this. There is nothing Italian about the food. I ordered a veal with port wine sauce. I got a bland, and almost cooked piece of meat, with a disgusting gravy like mush on top. The taste was almost non existing. The fries (no other option for the potatoes of course) were undercooked. As garnish tomatoes, reddish, cucumber and carrot. The waiters were very crude, and dropped the plates on the table, as well as when they cleared the table. Had to ask for a knife and fork when the food came. Never once did they wonder if we needed anything.

My daughter then ordered an ice cream. Asked for pistachio, and what did she get? Mint.

All in all, this place was truly not worth a visit. Have a really hard time understanding the rating...
