Disgraceful Experience at Bar Silva in Lagos, Portugal I had one of the worst experiences of my life at Silva , and I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs. From the moment I walked in, it was clear this establishment has zero respect for its location or its customers. The bathrooms? Absolutely disgusting. I don’t even want to think about what the state of the kitchen must be if that’s how they maintain the restrooms. I’ve attached pictures for anyone who doubts me—this place should be shut down by the health department immediately. The owner was beyond rude—an angry, condescending individual who seemed to have a major attitude the moment I spoke. The vibe here screams “Brits-only” expat hangout. The second they detected my accent, I got the most condescending look imaginable. Service? What service? You have to ring a bell like you’re begging for attention. A sweaty, googly eyed British woman eventually showed up, and I ordered a pint of local beer. No table service, no courtesy—just a €3.50 price tag for something I had to carry myself. That price is outrageous for a local beer in Portugal—this isn’t London! The blatant disrespect for the culture and the country was disgusting. The place is overrun by British expats, and I barely saw a local in sight. The only reason this bar is surviving is that Portuguese people are too kind and tolerant to call out the nonsense. I couldn’t finish my drink fast enough before leaving this sorry excuse for a bar. Trust me: Silva’s is a health hazard and an insult to the beautiful city of Lagos. I’m reporting this place to the local authorities, and I hope they take action. Stay far, far away from this place

The food is just fabulous at a very reasonable price. Jane who does the cooking, Mario the BBQ and Maz the srvice are amazing hosts at this lovely little tucked away restaurant about 10 mins walk up the hill behind Lagos marina. I would recommend asking to have the BBQ but you must give 24 hours notice. The fish and the lamb chops superb ! The beef and chicken dishes on the menu were outstanding ! We ate there about 6 times during our 3 week stay and every meal was a treat. They even serve a large portion of vegetables with every meal. Highly recommend !

Fish and chips!!! With mushy peas, Awesome. My partner had the chicken in mushroom sauce, 5 star . Service was great, two lovely ladies taking great care of you. We were booked on a boat trip from the train station, BlueFeet boat trip and tours. Bar Silva is 5 minutes away . Convenient!
