I arrived late into Lagos, and was searching for a place to grab dinner close to my accommodations. Not being one for the bar scene, but still wanting Portuguese food, I came across Matilde's. I arrived at the restaurant at 22:00, when I saw an older couple and a young lady chatting. The place was empty. While an empty restaurant would normally prompt me in the opposite direction, I did note that it was low season and I was drawn by the homey vibe the three had evoked - though, I later realized that the young lady may not be their daughter.
