Wonderful food! We had shrimps chef style, very fresh, a little bit spicy, excelent, an octopus salad, I enjoyed it a lot even if I don't usually like octopus, fried chicken with homemade ketchup, simply perfect (dry on the outside, juicy on the inside) and an amazing lamb with provenzal sauce (a tasty garlic sauce) that really made the difference. It was magistrally cooked, medium-rare as I asked, and because of it we're talking about coming back again tomorrow evening. We're wondering how the duck fillet could be... Everything has been served with a good white wine and followed by two normal italian espressos - italian coffee lovers know how difficult could be to find an espresso above the "scarce" rating - and the price was very affordable: 57.40€. What a find! Simply perfect French food in Lagos! Warm goat's cheese salad was just right with tasty fresh leaves, nice dry goat's cheese, nicely salted bacon lardons and a sweet balsamic dressing. Then the duck breast with parisienne potatoes.....could not have been presented better and the jus was lucious but not overpowering. The sides vegetables were cutely carved out and cooked just right. Honestly, had I been in a fancy pants restaurant in Paris, I would not have expected any better. The restaurant itself is set in what looks like a converted private residence and has a couple of tables outside on the pavement in a backstreet in Lagos. As always our night at Vista Alegre was phenomenal. We have been to this charming restaurant several times now and the dishes have never disappointed us and are truly impeccable. Vista Alegre is run by a charismatic and incredibly friendly French/Portuguese couple. One of the best restaurants we have been to in the area. Price and quality are incomparable to any other.
