Dom Queijo — Restaurant in Lisbon

We were so lucky to have found this restaurant!! We wanted something quaint with atmosphere and Oh My Goodness the Cheese!!

It is easy to see how dinner in Europe can easily last two hours, they don’t rush you, they want everyone to have a wonderful experience and the flavors are perfect!

Starters- we ordered a traditional cheese ball/bread a typical Brazilian Dish. We also ordered at the Managers suggestion another dish a Bruschetta but with Jamon and Brie (melted) with a touch of fig and it was delicious.

Main Course - we ordered Salmon in a goat cheese sauce (that combination is something we would never have) and it was unbelievable! The Goat Cheese sauce was light and matched the delicacy of the Salmon. Our other Main was “Filled Chicken Breast with Pumpkin Risotto” and it was truly delicious!

Dessert - we couldn’t decide and wanted to taste a couple so took the recommendation of the Manager. We ordered and fully enjoyed both the “Deconstructed Cheesecake” and “Crème de Mascarpone” we couldn’t decide which was better and before we knew it we had finished them both!

Small local site on Campo Grande District in Lisbon, offer a small menù specialities, but all of that cooked with professionalism and really delicious ones. The main food that you could find on menu receipts is cheese who chef puts on every plate ordered, and thanks of this ability, they makes their plates get flavoured. Only negative this was dessert... Ice cream put on top of "Crema al Mascarpone" was completely acid (probably was lemon flavour) for me, and in my opinion destroyed the nice flavour of "Mascarpone cream". O Dom Queijo é uma pura alquimia para os sentidos. O espaço é pequeno mas muito acolhedor e intimista, o que só por si já é muito convidativo. O atendimento é cinco estrelas, o funcionário é super simpático e atencioso, o serviço é impecável! Todo o ambiente respira queijo e nas várias opções que selecionamos, o queijo é uma constante sem destoar o foco principal do prato. Não ofusca os outros sabores, mas sim fá-los sobressair. Pedimos para entrada pão de queijo, grissinos e Halloumi, e foi WOW! O pão de queijo é divinal!!! Acabadinho de fazer, super quentinho, com o doce que o acompanhava estava soberbo!!! É um must try sem dúvida! Os grissinos são muito originais, e diferentes do que estamos acostumados, muito bom. E a última entrada que foi o cipriota Halloumi, regado com Lima superou qualquer expetativa, delicioso mesmo. Ficamos logo rendidos com as entradas... Pedimos tiramissu para sobremesa e é bastante original pois vem num vaso bem disfarçado, foi um ótimo ponto final na refeição. É sem dúvida dos melhores restaurantes da cidade... para os amantes de queijo, é um 'must go'. Da segunda vez que viemos, pedimos o menu de degustação que já inclui couvert, entrada, um prato e a sobremesa, e adicionamos mais o segundo prato.
