Feitoria… a well deserved Michelin star restaurant that leaves its patrons wanting more. The ambiance for one, makes you feel like royalty with their pristine customer service and seating allowing you to enjoy your company and the well mannered staff. Our head server Sheena was impeccable and knowledgeable about each course that not only entertained our palate but left us asking for more. We had the pleasure of meeting Chef André who introduced our first course. His passion behind his cuisines speaks volumes. We ordered a 7 course vegetarian meal and each course was as refreshing and mysterious as the previous one. Each meal had the freshest ingredients that allowed you to taste each individual flavor and when combined leaving your palate so satisfied that you wonder where one gets the creativity behind the meal. After such delicious dishes, one can only wonder what dessert brings… We had the pleasure of meeting our pastry chef Lèo who was so passionate and inspired about each of his creations that you can taste that passion with each bite. Traveling for leisure and staying at the Altis Belem hotel in Lisbon, Portugal, this restaurant is a must visit for all travelers from across the globe… this is a modern twist to authentic Portuguese cuisines and worth every penny… to many more Michelin stars… from New York with love and appreciation… thank you for a...
Read moreWe treated ourselves to an evening of fine dining at Feitoria, in the beautiful Altis Belem Hotel and Spa.
The Hotel and restaurant are stunningly beautiful. Right on the shores of the Tagus river, the views at sunset are spectacular... as the light is glistening and warmly glowing on the hillsides across the river. The decor of the hotel is understated, austere even, and classic. Minimilist granite.
The food was a bit of "molecular gastronomy", but without overdoing it to the degree it becomes circus. We were served an "amuse bouche" of a savory oreo - black crackers, with crab cake filling. Delicious. Then we were brought gazpacho soup in a martini glass - including a faux olive (that was produced via molecular gastronomic magic.)
For our entrees - I ordered the crusted sole, and my better half wisely ordered the 5 course tasting menu and wine pairings. She was presented with dish after exquisite dish. Everything was exceptionally and freshly presented. The staff as attentive and light-hearted. The wines were varied and delicious.
We really enjoyed dessert. I ordered the "Seven textures of Apples" and she had the "Banana Split." Like many of our dishes, each one came with a narration and explanation as to the unique preparation.
This was a perfect meal to what turned out to be a perfect night. We'll be back here whenever...
Read moreConsider ourselves very lucky to have experienced all types of restaurants throughout the world, from mom and pop, to single to three Michelin stars. This was a disappointment sad to say. The staff was very friendly, food was good but not great. It was shocking that the staff forgot the glass of sparkling I ordered in when we sat down. Ordered the wine pairing and was super disappointed that I had to ask about the a red that was supposed to be paired with my pork course. Like the other review , it seemed like the timing for the wine pairings were off. As stated in another review, the bread comes at an additional fee which I have no problem with but you shouldn't bring two orders if it wasn't part of the 7 or 9 course selection and you don't give your customer an option to decline the bread before you have consumed it. To be frank, if bread is extra then just raise your tasting menu and not let your customers feel taken advantage of at the end of the night. When we brought it up the staff seemed willing to remove the bread charge but we politely declined. Despite all this the rest of the staff and the chef deserved the amount we paid plus the gratuity as I hate to penalize those who worked hard despite the shortcomings. In summary the experience was fair but I would try another of Lisbon's Michelin starred restaurants...
