To the Owners/Manager of Jeronim8 Hotel,| |I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share my feedback on my recent stay at your hotel, which, unfortunately, was the worst hotel experience I have ever had, with the exception of the breakfast service.| |First and foremost, I would like to commend the lady who managed the breakfast service on the morning of September 26th. She was exceptional—super-efficient, kind, courteous, and respectful. I believe she could serve as a role model for the rest of the staff.| |However, aside from this positive experience, the rest of my stay was fraught with issues. Upon checking in on September 25th around 6 PM, I encountered two receptionists ( prefer to not name them here) who were consistently rude, obnoxious, and arrogant. At times, a third person from the bar joined them, laughing and chatting, which made the women in our group feel very uncomfortable.| |The following day, I requested drinking water for my room, and once again, the staff was arrogant. I received dismissive responses such as "maybe in your room" and "housekeeping may have placed water in your room; check it out first." There was no attempt to provide me with a bottle of water. When I didn't find any water in the room, I went to the bar, where the bartender initially said, "I am busy doing something else." I had to insist that I needed water to take my medication.| |I was shocked by these experiences. The front office staff seemed to have an attitude that they were doing us a favor and were not accountable for their actions. It almost felt as if they were the owners of the hotel.| |There were also other issues during my stay. The Wi-Fi connectivity was crucial for us, but there was none. When I complained, I was told I was the first to do so, even though others were also complaining. After repeated inquiries, we learned that the hotel had a peculiar system of connecting to Wi-Fi through the TV, but none of the staff informed us about this.| |Additionally, the shower was in the bathtub, which was placed precariously high, making it unsafe and difficult for someone not very tall to access. Finally, the picture of the hotel on Trip Advisor is of Jeronimo Castle and not the actual hotel, which is misleading.| |I hope you take this feedback into consideration to improve the overall experience for your guests.| |Thank you for...
Read moreThe Hotel Jerónimos 8 is a boutique-style hotel located in the Belém area of Lisbon, opposite part of the Jerónimos Monastery. It is basically a very upmarket B&B, so the only meal that is served in the hotel is breakfast. But, what a breakfast! It is buffet-style, but there is something there hot and cold for everyone, and plenty of it. Phillipa and her team looked after me very very well, and it is possible to sit and have one's breakfast, gazing at the sun - drenched walls of the monastery. Be sure to sample one or more of the very tasty Pastéis de Belém, enjoyed with icing sugar and cinnamon and washed down with a glass of the local sparkling wine. The rooms are very clean and kept that way, the beds are comfortable with a selection of pillows possible, and the water pressure from the shower is everything that one could wish for, including water as hot as you can stand. Wi-Fi is free and each room has its own high speed modem, with a second slightly slower general network which works throughout the hotel out of the room. Sr David Pires and his staff on reception are very efficient but very friendly and extremely accommodating. There is also a small bar which has a reasonable selection of basic liquids of a mind-altering nature. For those requiring something light to eat, there are a couple of cafés just to the right and to the left of the hotel, with more substantial restaurants within easy reach or an Uber ride away. Note that the cafés are closed over the weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and as I have heard that the Congress I was attending will be held in the Lisbon Congress Centre again next year, I have already asked for a tentative reservation at the hotel. Excellent value for money, and to me, well...
Read moreBooked by company for a business trip, in a great location and with a good breakfast and restaurant staff but far short of the quality and facilities expected of a 4star hotel||The carpets throughout are in a poor state...dirty stained faded or worn. The floor in the restaurant was falling apart by the buffet and the room though of a good size was not properly clean...those little ledges and door frames were crusted in dust, you could write your name in the dust on the base of the floor lamp stand. The fridge would not open...though it did not appear to be working at all. The hook on the back of bathroom door was falling off...the towel rail over the bath was going the same way ||The sink plug control barely worked and for less mobile clients getting into the shower could be problematic. The air condition controller worked but made no difference to the temperature of the room. No kettle no water ||The walls are beginning to look a bit grimy and the gloss paint is beginning to yellow||A shame as in a good location but with my money id spend it elsewhere as it is just not good enough at that quality standard||2-3 stars at...
