The service here is the best thing, the servers speak English and we received our cheese platter and drinks less than 10 minutes after putting our order in! The cheese platter wasn't great, our table only liked one of the cheeses (out of 4) and it was smaller than we were told before ordering. The drinks were good too, we mostly had water or iced tea (which comes canned) so no complaints there. Our mains arrived separately and are the reason why the rating is so low as I was not happy with the tuna. First off it was SWIMMING in oil which took away from the flavour and temperature of the tuna (which were done well!) The vegetables were just grilled, they salted them but that was about it, very dull! The onions on top of the tuna were disgustingly greasy and could have done with a good wringing before eating. It was okay (I'm being generous) but nothing to get excited over, if you're looking for great food I would look elsewhere so I wouldn't recommend it. For its proximity to large tourist attractions I was expecting a lot worse so it has exceeded my expectations but for a restaurant with over 4 stars...there is room for improvement. Also - avoid the bathrooms, they were disgusting even at the start of the day with a retch-worthy stench. The main restaurant is clean though. Pics: 1. cheese platter,...
Read moreMy octopus was very well prepared, though the portion was a bit on the small side. I don't regret my order, but if you're very hungry go for one of the other dishes or add a couple of appetizers (the olives were especially good).
What made the meal a little harder to enjoy was that it was very hot inside. I don't know if it's always that hot in there during the warmer summer days or if one of their A/C units was on the fritz. If you don't do well in the heat, maybe wait to go on a cooler day or go for dinner.
That said, the service was excellent despite the fact that the staff was visibly suffering with the heat even more than the customers.
Note for non-Portuguese speakers: the dish listed on the menu as "pork chops" are not, in fact pork chops, but pork "lagartos". It literally translates to lizards, probably so named because of fact that it's a long cut of meat. It's a boneless cut from the rib area, closer to what you might find in North America as boneless (beef)...
Read morePrepare to be enchanted by the meat and seafood paradise! This Portuguese culinary haven captured my heart with its irresistible array of dishes. The flavors found in their seafood were delicious , resulting in an unforgettable dining experience. If you got the taste of food and it is your life, this is the place which you should choose. The seafood salad is unbelievable, but the octopus dish is the best from the best. I never had anything similar in my life. The staff is very friendly and helpful and also the service is excellent. Even if it is busy, they don’t forget about you and serve you at the highest standards. This destination is an unequivocal must-explore.
From as many restaurants I tried in Lisbon and across the world, this restaurant deserves more than 5 stars.
I highly recommend it and definitely will come back especially for this restaurant 😃
P.S. Try Panna cotta - you will...
