Restaurante Japonês - YUKIMURA SUSHI BAR — Restaurant in Lourinhã

I ignored the bad reviews. Please don’t make the same mistake. The service was fine. She was very nice. Services is not the issue. The table was nicely set but sticky. The kitchen was off. We received our wine, then main meal, then after a long wait, finally or appetizers. It made no sense. The sushi was….not typical sushi. We ordered the spice tuna. The rice was dry. The sushi looked like it was mashed up. Not at all fresh. Next, the edamame was plump but under cooked. The tempura vegetables were not good at all. First, very under cooked. My guess is the oil was not at all hot. The coating, not tempura! Maybe a breading of some sort but definitely not tempura. And the vegetable selection was so odd. There were very thinly sliced carrots with medium broccoli and cauliflower. There is no way to cook these different sized vegetables at the same time - some are cooked and others not. Honestly, this was not the worst part. I can get past bad food but come on. Several men came in, who clearly knew the workers. They helped the sushi chef catch a fly hanging out with the “fresh fish” in the case. So strange. After they left. The two sushi chefs were making and EATING sushi…where they make your sushi! Ultimate sushi indulgence. I've been to this sushi several times, eating at the restaurant with the "Festival de Sushi" for lunch, which is a 19.90 € all you can eat option with food decided by the chef (in the photos), and once with the "Take Away Dose Dupla" offer, where I chose the Sushi to Sashimi 1 menu (19 € for 42 pieces of mixed sushi and sashimi, such as 8 pieces of sashimi, 14 hot sushi, and 20 cold sushi, in the photos too). The overall quality of the food has been, in every case, the best I ever experienced in Portugal and, probably, anywhere else in the world. Yes, it is costly, but hell it is worthy! Visita ao restaurante Yukimura – Lourinhã

Fui recentemente ao restaurante de sushi Yukimura, na Lourinhã, e infelizmente a experiência ficou muito aquém das expectativas. Logo no início, mencionei que não queria fritos no menu de degustação. A resposta foi que “tinha de vir assim”, o que me pareceu completamente desnecessário. Reforcei que não iria comer e que deviam avisar a cozinha para não os incluir. Só depois de alguma insistência é que aceitaram fazer o “sacrifício” de os retirar, o que já deixou uma má impressão.

Além disso, pedi um shirashi, mas fui informado de que não tinham. Quando finalmente chegou o menu de degustação, o carpaccio era excelente — sem dúvida o melhor momento da refeição. No entanto, o combinado de sushi ficou muito aquém do esperado, sobretudo tendo em conta a variedade e qualidade que existem noutros restaurantes atualmente. As fotos falam por si.

E atenção não podes repetir Sashimi…
