Novo Sanremo — Restaurant in Mértola

I don’t understand the high reviews. First the service is bizarre. Very rushed and for no reason as the restaurant was empty. The waiter jumped around barely listening and even just walked away to take another order while I was trying to explain what I wanted. The restaurant is clean but no real vision on the decor. A hodgepodge of random stuff and crookedly hung taxidermy (not something you want to stare at while you eat). Now the food.. Everything was bone dry. The pork, fish, chicken..everything. It was inedible. The food tasted old as if it was precooked and sitting for awhile. The fish was swimming in oil. The pickled veggies were low quality. The fries were old and tasteless. Nothing had flavour. Absolutely horrible. And we paid a lot of money for this food. Avoid...

Het eten in dit restaurant is correct (vooral de presunto). Wij aten er varkenswangetjes en kip. De varkenswangetjes waren licht pikant en de kip was bereid met een hele straffe looksaus. De bediening is heel snel, je kan er dus niet rustig tafelen. Maar pas op als je wijn besteld: wij vroegen 3 keer een glas wijn (kost €1), maar men bracht telkens 1/4 liter (kostte €4 voor witte en €4,5 voor rode wijn). Migas com Peixe Frito: não gostei, migas de fraca qualidade Costeleta de bovino: Boa qualidade mas as batatas fritas do acompanhamento eram fracas, cheias de óleo. Sobremesa pouca quantidade e de qualidade média. Problema para pagar, Multibanco fora de serviço, remeteram para caixa ATM no exterior que não tinha dinheiro, finalmente veio alguém que aceitou o pagamento por mbway.
