Nice quiet, quaint restaurant with inexpensive good food. We had tomato salad with soft cheese and a tomato onion soup (this was great). Followed by the scabbard fish with banana and the chicken curry with pineapple, both were good. The sweet banana really makes for a good flavour combination with the battered fish. The curry with pineapple was fairly sweet but not too much. Both dishes came with fries, rice and a side salad. Portions were large. Total was under €40 with drinks.

Went here on Friday night. Don’t be put off by the lack of people. The food and service are both amazing. The food may look simple but is super tasty! The fish was delicious and very fresh. The tartar sauce was some of the best I’ve ever had. The woman working is so kind and although doesn’t speak much English, doesn’t get frustrated repeating multiple times. I highly highly recommend you visit this authentic spot if you have a chance!

Place with a soul - if you want to feel like at home/close family, you should visit. We ordered scabbard fish fillet with banana, octopus salad and octopus sandwich - everything was freshly made and delicious! The portions are big and the prices are really nice. And the lady who runs the restaurant (I'm guessing she is the owner) was gorgeous - obrigada!

The atmosphere is casual, more of a small café-style space. It doesn’t try to appeal to tourists, and I really respect that, it feels like a proper locals hangout.

Food is good with fairly big portions, and the staff are friendly. Don’t expect a gourmet experience, but for the price it’s a solid deal. As a Portuguese, it actually reminded me of the little local restaurants back home.

If you want to experience Madeira like a local, this is definitely a spot...
