We stayed in Nazare for 4 days and visited few places around (Down and up the hill), so we had options to compare this places with others.
Fantastic family atmosphere. The place is not big - inside probably 20 seatings and outside - 10? Disclaimer: If you are looking for the white gloves fancy-schmency place - you rather skip the visit to the restaurant . It is all about simple, authentic and family oriented service and environment. Yes, waiter can forget you or is not really speaking good English - however, who cares? Enjoy the food, use translator and feel the breath of the Atlantic Ocean.
Here is all about the Local & fresh ingredients. The menu does not provide many options, however, you can get your salad, meat or fish. First time we had picanha and avocado salad. On the last day we ordered steak and fish, which was done very well! David, the owner, created fantastic, simple local dishes, which definitely adding a lot of value to the visit to Nazare as such. One of my discoveries, which I will use at home is fresh pineapple topped with a lime zest…. OMG! What an unexpected combination.
It is good place for the price / quality. We also eat close to the beach and some places were horrible and the check was very high.
You can see that people in this place are doing that for living - with a passion for food and guests.
Highly...
Read moreStopping by here after spending some time going around the old town of Nazare and at the first glance this place looked closed as there was no chairs outside the restaurant. However, as my partner and I walked in, we were greeted so warmly by the owners and woahhh the food was good with affordable prices:) had vegetable soup as appetizers, cod and baby sardines as main and chocolate pudding as dessert. I was soo stuffed and couldn't even finish the rice, so we took home:)) as a family restaurant, the place gives really warm and cozy feeling. The staff are super nice and friendly:) unfortunately they don't take credit card:( though it's not a biggie as there's an ATM right across it:) p.s. we also tried the local wine and...
Read moreFantastic little gem in Sítio, Nazare. Excellent food, traditional but done with class a slight modern twist. Service was very good, very kind and courteous staff, very accommodating.
Lots of traditional dishes and new ones we don’t see in other Portuguese restaurants. It’s a modern tavern, with a fantastic and expensive wine list.
Speaking of prices, I don’t know if you will find a more affordable place in town (or even in Portugal) for the quality of dishes, and serving sizes. Desserts all homemade, so disappointed when I a few I wanted were sold out but very glad that the ones that remained where made in-house by kitchen staff.
Price, quality, location, service, taste... this is a must for anyone...
