A Lota restaurant in Fuseta Portugal… we are so happy to have found this wonderful spot! You select your fresh fish from the display case as you enter and are welcomed and by the staff/owners/family… lovely people. You can watch the chef expertly prepare everything beside the tables… mesmerizing. On nice days, the restaurant opens their patio along the water’s edge across the street with bright red umbrellas and an outdoor grill! Very festive! We watched the fishermen come in with their catches 20 feet away. This is the only spot where we found Heineken on draught and the best white wine, ‘Maneiro’. Service is exceptional! We arranged a dinner for four of Grouper and they made a special order for us. The fish could have fed 8 people so we had fish to bring home for another day. It was delicious! Every server was friendly and attentive… shout out to lovely Inez🤗 ♉️ who chatted with us and made us feel so welcome. My favourite...
Read moreWe were spending the evening on Fuseta and had been recommended to try one of the three restaurants next to each other here. We went for A Lota as it was the only one open before 6:30. They advised that they couldn't take food orders until 6:30 but we could have a drink.

It was fun to sit near the outside grill and watch the food be cooked, and it is a nice location by the river. When we left - 7:30ish all tables were taken.
As we left and walked past the other two restaurants, we wish we had picked one of the others. The fish was coming off the grill golden and crispy and looked much more appetising, with better...
Read moreWe went there on a sleepy Monday and were pleasantly attracted by the waft of grilled seafood. The place is mostly frequented by locals so you know that it is good. Bear in the mind that they only speak Portuguese so a basic knowledge of it will prove to be useful. After an awkward start, we were able to order and were rewarded with an excellent meal of fresh tasty seafood. It was a real value for money, costing us only €24 for the following: 1 dory 2 sardines 1 cuttlefish 1 plate of fries 2 bottles of Sagres beer and 1 bottle of water 1 slice of fig cake Comes with miscellaneous bread, salad and butter I highly recommend this place. What a...
