O Bote — Restaurant in Olhão

Second review on this restaurant one year later, this year my wife had the chicken on the charcoal & my daughter had octopus rice. I had the clams and pork. This year, the chicken and the rice squid was perfect, all the flavours were on point.. but the pork and clams fell short in flavour. Lack of salt & garlic to bring out the clam flavour, so for that I removed 1 star from last year’s review. But, I know normally all their dishes are on point. Yes I recommend this place 100%.

2022 Tonight, we stopped to eat at (O Bote) This is a family run restaurant with amazing seafood fresh from the market across the street. The restaurant is located in the hart of the action of the market area and the food is very well priced. Every thing was amazing with the big grilled calamar, and the pork with clams out of this world….and...

I dare say it was one of the busiest restaurants there as we stood in line for an hour to place our order and then wait for our food to be ready.

But it was really worth it.

Our order included seafood, beef steak and lamb shank.

The beef steak was very well cooked, tasty and juicy and served with fries and salad.

We had two different seafood dishes with rice but they were served completely differently which was far from our imagination.

The shrimp 🦐 were served very tasty and delicious.

The atmosphere of the restaurant and the outside environment for sitting area was very beautiful with a pleasant atmosphere to sit and enjoy various dishes.

One of the larger and busier, long established restaurants on the Olhao seafront road that specialise in fresh fish, although there's an extensive menu of meat options and some specialities. Fish and meats served any way you like as long as its grilled, swimming in olive oil, raw garlic and coriander i.e. typical Algarvian fayre. Matchstick french fries poor but potato option (with fish) included some sweet potatoes to add variety/flavour. Most dishes served with tomato & onion salad (salsa), tasty but lacks imagination. We were served lukewarm weak coffee. Cold white tiled interior to the restaurant but it's normally OK to sit outside. ...
