Totally worth the hike! After seeing the traditional side of the Douro Valley, it’s nice to see the future. Here, not only can you find the classics, but also many interesting wines that a new generation of wine makers are doing locally. We really loved the natural wines we tasted. The owner was very friendly and we really enjoyed her explanations and recommendations. In fact, we were only going there for a glass or two, but since we loved it so much we decided to scrap our dinner plans and stay for more. For wines we tried the Pet Nat, some red wines, and an orange wine. We ordered some of the small plates they had, which were very tasty. We got the bola de Lemago, gilda, pork rillette, smoked sardines, and partridge en escabeche.

We came across Libatio after a lot of Googling of what to do in the area and were so glad to stumble upon this place.
The owner was so accommodating and found the perfect spot for us (baby too) to relax and have some wine in the converted wine cellar. She was super knowledgeable in her wine recommendations and chose some excellent wines. The food options that were provided were well crafted small plates, which accompanied our wine perfectly.
