We lucked into Tasha da Quinta, we were very early on Friday and Paula kindly made room for us well before the reservation people came.We thoroughly enjoyed the experience!! The restaurant only has 5 tables. We were so impressed with the quality of the food and Paula’s hospitality, we made reservations for the only available time on Saturday 6:30 pm.We enjoyed the ribs and the bean stew the first night ,Paula listened to our taste preferences in wine, and selected a fantastic wine ,which we both enjoyed. The next night we tried the tapas, wow, they were excellent. We’ve spent 6 1/2 weeks in southern Spain and Portugal, we’ve had delicious tapas ,but because of our unsophisticated pallets we were not as keen on more tapas. We’re very glad we tried the 3 tapas mushroom, smoked ham and codfish at Tasha da Quinta, they were different than the same old and DELICIOUS.Thank you Paula and Tasha da Quinta, you have made a wonderful Douro experience in Peso da Regua an UNFORGETTABLE one. Paula brings one of my favourite mantras to mind. “ good service isn’t expensive, it’s PRICELESS” Thank...
Read moreBest food we've ever had in Portugal, so we came back for 2nd night, which happened to be American Thanksgiving. Paula made it extra special for us and did some traditional sides to go with the ribs! I can't say enough great things about Paula and Tasca da Quinta! The first night we had the octopus, duck and pork. The duck and pork shank melt in your mouth, best duck and pork we have ever had. The second night we had the ribs and the duck. Both nights we had the smoked sausage, which was soft inside and wonderful on bread or alone. The second night we also had the mackerel and the white bean soup, both delicious. For dessert, we had the raspberry mouse which is light and delicious and the second night we had the apple tart/pie which was light and delicious served with lemon sorbet. Highly recommend and its particularly wonderful for those who like an earlier dinner - they open at 6pm!! Hope to make it back...
Read moreA very warm and helpful owner-operator, Guilherme, guided us through his menu, meticulously hand written in a palm-size notebook with lined pages. Our order of small Portuguese dishes, called Petiscos, included quail salad, cod cakes and seasoned string potatoes, octopus, pork ribs in a delicious, mild, slightly tangy sauce add a fabulous dessert of raspberry mousse made for our best dining experience among many really find meals in Portugal. Both red and white wines matched the tastes of the petiscos. Seating maybe 25 in a comfortable space separated from the kitchen by only a chest-high counter and glass display case, Guilherme has created in Tasca Quinta a homey and personalized dining experience of wonderful Portuguese tastes at...
