Limonete — Restaurant in Peso da Régua

We accidentally got to this place, since we were looking to eat in another place that turned out to be take-away only. The waiter turned out to speak French, much better than I speak Portuguese. The food was just great, great, great. Excellent taste and big servings such that we couldn't finish our dishes, which is exceptional. Since we got there quite late and I tend to eat very slowly, we overshot the normal closing time by at least 25 minutes, and no one pressed us in any way. The place is big but it sure wasn't noisy: our conversation could happen unencumbered by loud music. This is an address that I keep among my points...

Menu complete €7.00 dragged us in. Bread, soup, chicken, dessert and a drink. Lots of workers so we know its going to be good. Waiting a while for a table but it will be worth it. 12.45 got english menu which was missing the menu outside. When the waiter came we asked for the menu complete to be told its no longer being served. So we walked out. I am furious at this blatant ripping the tourist off. Im used to this behaviour now in other countries but not Portugal. You make up your own mind but we will not be returning to...

Not just a Pizzeria, it is cozy little restaurant with a fantastic menu full of fantastic dishes. You can guess the quality of the restaurant judging by the queue of the locals waiting outside to eat here during lunch hours. There are authentic Portuguese dishes along with some popular continental dishes and off course great variety of pizzas. Menu is available both in Portuguese and English.
