DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE.

I should have read the reviews before coming to this place.

When we arrived, I saw the menu outside saying "Prato do Dia" 7€ and a list of dishes.

We got inside and I said "Hello, I'm here for 2 pratos do dia, the Alheira one" and they were like "yeah yeah sure".

The starters were disgusting, just some bread with seasoned Hellmann's mayo.

Then the alheiras came and it just wasn't good. I ate much better alheiras for a much lower price.

Then they have offered dessert and coffee, which is USUALLY WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PRATO DO DIA.

When we paid, the bill was 33,10 - definitely not 7/8€ per person that we were expecting.

3,50€ per dessert for a disgusting fake creme brulee and a mousse.

Anyways, I was so irritated and then the owner just said "I'm sorry that no one has said anything to you".

I should have asked for the LIVRO DE RECLAMAÇÕES because this place is a SCAM.

Now I was reading the other reviews and I realized that this is their Modus Operandi and that they are indeed scammers.

My parents and me (very seasoned tourists across the continents) saw an empty restaurant and asked if we could sit down and enjoy one glass of Port wine each. We asked for the white port and didn’t ask for the menu since it was obviously a very popular drink in and around the area.

When I went to pay the bill the server said it was 24 euros for three glasses!!! 8 euros per glass which is absurd and unfair.

I was SHOCKED.

I then asked him how much the bottle was and he said 25 euros. In the moment I ended up paying the 24 euros and asked if I could pay the remaining 1 euro for the remaining amount in the bottle since we liked it and I was told NO. I had to buy a new bottle!

We were scammed and I will warn everyone to never go here again. this place should be SHUT DOWN. It is a tourist trap and the owners and the servers they have trained are cheaters and liars.

Food was very simple, which doesn't mean it was bad. Yet, overpriced!!! They charge extra for everything: 4 eur extra for a starter that we didn't order, 1eur something extra for bread, 2 eur extra for fried potatoes, which normally should be part of a dish. Otherwise, we should have been warned in advance! Sangria for 15eur was ok, but yet again in my personal opinion for a quality - overpriced! Lunch for two 45eur at this quality - I'm sorry, but it's not worth it!!! As for service, I'm also confused. While a waiter was very kind and smiling, he had to run to be able to serve everyone (undersaffed place). My second star goes to him, as I'm sure he did his best! By a reaction to other comments, I feel that the owner is not able to accept an opinion of the others. It's a pity, as this place could have a potential.
