Usually I do not write negative reviews but these people deserve it for acting disrespectful towards my family member. I went with some family , we were traveling with to this restaurant . We were 4 people. The waiter that seated us had black hair and a beard . It was evening and the restaurant was full, so I get they had too much going on. We ordered food, it took over an hour of waiting and still nothing, which by itself is alright, however at least 2 other tables that got seated after us , were starting to receive their food which felt weird. While, We only got our drinks at some point. Then more time passed and nothing was coming while the tables around us kept getting their food. Some of these tables had 2 people seated , some had over 7.Finally my uncle , who was agitated , asked the waited to come over and asked where our food was since we waited too long and noted that other tables already had their food . The waiter was extremely condescending towards my uncle, did not apologize for the waiting and tried to explain something which we didn’t understand , which further agitated my uncle . My uncle just asked if we could pay for what we had already on the table and leave as he was very hungry and did not want to wait more. Upon saying this, the waiter magically disappeared and came with our totally ready food within 5 minutes and flopped it on the table without saying anything and giving my uncle a nasty look???? The waiter again did not apologize and did not explain how the food wasn’t coming, why other tables which were seated after us with 4+ people were getting their food , but the moment my family said we wanted to leave, the food was suddenly ready and on the table. Also, the waiter never apologized and was being in my opinion condescending which was the biggest issues, everyone else in the Azores were amazing and so kind to us, in one place they also made us wait very long however they apologized for it when we asked. So the behavior of this waiter was like a slap...
Read moreWe went for a late lunch at this restaurant after being on a boat tour all day. The restaurant has a great location right by the water, but it wasn't busy, with only about 10 other people there. Despite this, we had to wait over 10 minutes just to receive menus. Following that, we experienced another lengthy wait before the waiter took our drink orders, which took forever to arrive. By the time we could finally order our food, our drinks were already empty.
To make matters worse, two other tables that arrived after us ate, paid, and left before we were even served our food. After repeatedly asking the waiter to check on our order, our food finally arrived a staggering 75 minutes after ordering. Dining as a group of five, only two of us received our meals initially. The waiter then attended to other tasks before completing the delivery of our meals.
When our food eventually arrived, it was without cutlery. We had to track down the waiter on foot to bring us some, and after waiting another five minutes with our food getting cold, we found the waiter washing the cutlery by hand.
The vegetarian options were limited, so I ordered the chicken pasta without the chicken, expecting the tasty creamy sauce that comes with the dish. Instead, I received a plate of almost cold pasta with plain cream—no spices, no cheese, no garnish. My boyfriend's chicken pasta, on the other hand, had the delicious creamy sauce I had hoped for, just with the chicken.
In summary, the service was extremely slow and unorganized, and the food quality was inconsistent. Given the restaurant's excellent location, it's a shame the experience was so...
Read moreI chose fresh fish, but to be honest, I come from a family of fishermen, and it didn't feel like a catch of the day (although I was told it was). The fish wasn't firm like a fresh fish, it very well could have been warmed up from previously cooked. It was a bit dry and overcooked. If it were really a catch of the day, from the deep see, the taste would have been so much better. My hands felt a little sticky from touching the fish and the vegetables tasted sour, like they were cooked more than three hours ago, plain boiled, not grilled (probably frozen but uncertain about that). I changed the veggies for rice. It was not hot, also appeared like it was cooked some time ago, and a bit shaky as well, but it had a good buttery taste.
The potatoes thought were excellent, like excellent garden fresh summer potatoes. The kind of caramel cheesecake was very creamy and worth trying. 5 stars for the potatoes and the dessert.
That's all, nothing to celebrate about. I would not come back for the reason that it definitely lacked freshness. The cost of my meal, near to 30 euros with a local fruit juice and a dessert.
Ambiance ok outside, beautiful inside, the location...
