We were delighted to discover Ponta do Sol, a restaurant that quickly became our favorite dining spot during our vacation. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we knew we were in for a treat. Every item we ordered from the menu was prepared to perfection, leaving us eager to return for more.

Cooked to perfection, it effortlessly melted in our mouths, leaving us satisfied and without the need for a toothpick. In our opinion, it was the best steak on the entire island.

The clams were consistently delicious, prepared with great care and tenderness. We were pleasantly surprised by their soft texture and the absence of any overpowering sea taste. As for the limpets, we anticipated a slight hint of the ocean, but the flavorful garlic bread provided the perfect complement to dip in the sauce.

Not to be missed is their scrumptious burger, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The homemade fries served alongside were a delightful surprise and added an extra touch of satisfaction to the meal. We also highly recommend trying their carbonara and shrimp risotto, both of which were incredibly tasty.

While the octopus in the sandwich wasn't as tender as we had hoped, it still offered a pleasing taste. The cocktails, tailored to our preferences, were consistently crafted with skill, adding an enjoyable twist to our dining experience.

The only minor downside was that the large water bottles were not chilled, but that didn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the meal. We are staying right on the seafront so the Sun Spot Cafe has had a 3rd visit from us tonight. Each time has been excellent. Between us, we've had Carbanara, Bolo du Caco burger with salad and skin on fries. Yesterday my husband wasn't feeling that peckish due to a cold so I ate alone but they packed up some sandwiches I chose for him so I could take it back to him in the hotel. Even letting me know where the nearest farmacie is for the next morning. Nice touch. Staff are friendly, attentive and food generally arrives within 20 mins even if busy. The location is perfect for watching the sun set, indeed many people turn up at the beach to do just this.

There are a couple of lovely, friendly, tabby and white cats that frequent this beach and parts of the restaurant which adds some fun if you're a cat fan. If not they aren't invasive!

Finally, prices are reasonable compared to British prices. It's all good and very happy...

We came in for dinner around 20:00. The food was fantastic with an amazing view of the sunset and a special "staff member" 🐈. The service was very good, although a lot of reviews say otherwise, I didn't experience any rudeness from the staff and I am very sensitive to that. We got the table immediately. Someone from the staff was always outside at the door waiting for the guests who were seated as soon as they came in. Food was delivered in about 20 minutes, so no long waiting. We ordered Scabbard Fish Tempura, Sea bass, and Shrimp risotto, for the dessert Mango cheesecake, two lemon Ponchas, and lemonade. Fish Tempura is to die for, the sea bass was cooked to perfection, and the risotto was top-notch. Pretty good Poncha, not as strong as others I tried, which I appreciated, ha 😅. Tasty lemonade, which my kiddo finished almost immediately. Overall, amazing experience....
