There are truly no words that can fully describe how happy we are with Restaurant Sol Poente and the way they organized our wedding dinner and celebration. From the very beginning of the planning process, communication was excellent – even though we live in Norway, they made everything smooth and easy for us.

One of the things we appreciated the most was how they listened to our personal preferences instead of offering us a “standard wedding package” that makes every celebration look the same. With Sol Poente, everything felt unique and tailored just for us.

They created magical moments with beautiful, timeless decorations, fun drink and grill stations, and an atmosphere that was both elegant and joyful. Hosting a buffet for 90 guests can often be a challenge, but the kitchen at Sol Poente truly impressed us – the food was authentic, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious.

The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional, and they treated us like family. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, they surprised us with real fireworks during the cake cutting – it was pure magic!

This day has become our most treasured memory, one that will stay with us forever. All of our guests had an amazing time and couldn’t stop talking about how impressed they were with everything – the food, the service, the atmosphere, and the professionalism.

We are endlessly grateful to Restaurant Sol Poente for creating such a perfect celebration for us. To all future couples looking for a wedding venue: we cannot recommend Sol Poente highly enough. We have been to weddings in castles, restaurants, and other venues before – but nothing compares to the energy, effort, and magic that Sol Poente delivered.

We went for dinner to Sol Poente. The view is stunning, especially during sunset as it's placed on top of a cliff. The cocktails were good, service as well.

However, we were very disappointed by the food, we didn't eat worse during our whole trip. The house steak is not a steak like you'd expect - it's ananas and cheese wrapped in beef - but there's nothing mentioned on the menu, so I was expecting a normal steak. On top, like a fourth of it was still raw. Also the other dishes were disappointing. The vegetarian burger is not a burger. It's only the veggie patties and a side salad. The vegetarian pasta was only plain pasta with mushrooms, no sauce or anything. The food is also very expensive for Portuguese standards, we payed 20€ per person without drinks. It definitely does not pay off!

I want to highlight the service though. After we told them that we didn't like any of the dishes, they removed the drinks from the bill. Truly appreciate the courtesy.

All in all, I would recommend the place to have drinks - but definitely not for...

Really disappointed with this one. Usually I don't go to restaurants that dont have at least 4.3 ratings but there wasn't much options here so I tried this one out. I got seated and waited 15 mins for the server to arrive and asked me if I wanted the menu. I mean I guess so how else would I know what to order. I ordered grilled codfish i didn't know they dont clean out the fish so I had to remove the bones but really no problem with that. Midway it tasted good then the other half very salty. Had vegetables as sides carrots, broccoli and white cabbage? I at least expected more variety but very bland and unfortunately they were lukewarm to cold. At the end you're paying for the view and that's it. I didn't left extremely disappointed because the server forgot to charge my vegetables so I guess it was a compensation for my stay here.

PS: On this trip here i realized the French people are like Americans...
