All Beef — Restaurant in Portimão

Firstly I need to say I have not eaten at All Beef so my rating does not in any way reflect the quality of the food or drink on offer.

The rating does however reflect the lack of service or courtesy I received from this establishment and their booking agent The Fork.

Planning to be in Praia da Rocha over the weekend 6/7/8 May for our Ruby (40th) wedding anniversary on the 8th, I wanted to book somewhere special for a celebratory meal with my wife. Looking at the reviews and checking on both Google and the Fork’s app I booked a table for two for 8pm on Sunday the 8th May, five weeks before. I received confirmation from the Fork of my booking.

On arriving in the resort, we went for a walk on the Friday to have a look at the restaurant and check out the menu. All looked superb and the gastric and anticipatory juices began to flow.

On the 7th I received confirmation via the Fork app of my booking for 8pm the following evening. After spending a great morning celebrating and having a great lunch by the beach I picked up around 2pm, an email via The Fork stating:

‘Unfortunately, Allbeef Restaurante will not be able to honour your booking on Sunday, 8 may 2022 at 20:00, We will contact the restaurant to make sure this doesn't happen again. We deeply apologize, and to compensate for the inconvenience, we have given you 100 Yums, which are now available in your loyalty space. Please remember: 1000 Yums = 10€ discount in a partner restaurant’

Wow to say disappointing is an understatement!

No reason given, answer to calls or emails jus the equivalent of €1.00 compensation for what should have been a truly happy and romantic occasion.

Suggest that anyone booking in advance at this establishment double or even triple checks their reservation in advance...

Was really looking forward to the meal after all the excellent reviews, however… the was lovely, quality of food very good but for a restaurant who’s main purpose is to serve steak and then for that restauranr to not cook it to your liking is a bit of a disappointment.i know a lif of people ssy this but i am not that fussy. On ordering, I asked can i have it medium (pink with a bit of blood)- it came out well, a touch of medium at best and they also forgot drinks. They never asked us during the main was everything ok but to be fair the restaurant was busy at that point so to be understood. When finished we were asked was everything ok. I mentioned the steaks werent quite what the way we asked (it was just a passing comment I did not make a deal as we did eat the food but there was no question or im sorry to hear that thanks for the feedback). It was as if they did not care. Fair enough. Also the bread starter is brought out without asking and it is a 2.80 cover per person just to advise people). I have eaten in another steakhouse in praia da rocha down the road and to be honest its probably just about as good.a lot of amazing reviews about all beef and yes agreed a lovely high quality restaurant but they need to try a...

Not the best. After looking at the reviews we chose this place for a special anniverary based on those reviews. How wrong can you be? The service was good. Furthermore...One of the most expensive steaks (Angus steak) was ok but disappointing. Lacked any taste. Could have been any cut of meat. My wife was keen on a 'rib eye steak'. Although she enjoyed it...she did not believe it was a rib eye, possibly rump, a cheaper cut....the waiters were very polite but never asked us whether everything was okay. In the end. It felt like "pay up and go"....must have been the time if year.....why did we not complain? What was the point? We were there to enjoy a special occason. We will not be there again... and so it does not matter to them. A nice location....but that is all that can be said from our experience. So I do not understand the rave reviews I have read. Had better steaks...
