Myself and the Mrs. Were on a stroll along the walkways overlooking Praia do vau when we stumbled across what i can only describe as a gem of the Algarve. We stopped outside at the menu board and were promptly met by the owner a well mannered and polite gentleman who enquired as to where we were from and if we were looking for a meal or snack and continued to inform us of the many drinks and the promotion of a pint of sagres for only €1.50. Just on his charm alone we were sold.

We were invited to take a seat and told he'd be with us shortly with menus. This man is the up most perfect example of exceptional service he was able to entertain all customers and tables at once making sure all your requirements were met while in addition exchanging polite conversation and jokes with all customers.

The food arrived looking mouth watering and just as described in the menu. On using the toilet facilities we were both astounded by the cleanliness of the facilities

It was a pleasure to eat at this restaurant and we can definitely say that we will be...

LIARS!! Be careful!!!! We ordered a pancake with Nutella and the English breakfast. The first dish only comes with one big pancake and it was delicious. The English breakfast was ok… however I didn’t enjoy the beans and its sauce because it tasted a bit artificial. Portuguese people are used to homemade food with the nicest ingredients and this dish was not it. The toasts should be made with real bread, not those fake ones Americans love, since we are in Portugal. I Think this restaurant cannot compete with other Portuguese places, this is for tourists. In addition, in the menu says the English breakfast costs 6€ but they charged us 8€… they told us it’s because the price changed and the menus have not been renewed. I didn’t like this answer because you should have warned us about this before we ordered the food so we wouldn’t get caught off guard. If I knew this I wouldn’t have ordered the English breakfast because it’s not that good for 8€. We payed too much and there was no quality. I hated they charged 8€ when on the menu is labeled as 6€....

Came here based on previous reviews. It’s the best rated on the strip. Genuinely the worst meal I’ve ever had. Totally inedible. The menu is a confusing mix of international dishes: Indian, Italian, Chinese, Korean… that would’ve been alarm bells but I’d only seen the blackboard of specials which were all Portuguese dishes. We went for the grilled chicken and the fish fillet with tomato rice. The chicken I can only describe as over stewed to the point that the skin was limp and fatty and the flesh was akin to purée. The fish I imagine was a frozen battered fish. The batter was hard and thick and the little fish that was inside didn’t flake like normal. Again, it was more like mush. The rice, which initially came as plain white rice (should’ve kept this), tasted predominantly of tomato purée and red peppers, not in a nice way. The only saving grace of the dish, and the only bit I could stomach, was the plain salad. We let the kids finish their chicken nuggets and chips and went somewhere else for a real...

Had a lovely lunch on the cozy terrace of The Jacaranda, a restaurant owned by an English gentleman and his Dutch wife. The carafe of sangría we ordered was the best we had during our trip in the Algarve, we got a separate 75 cl bottle of sparkling wine with the carafe filled with fruit. Exceptional, truly. I loved the jacket potato and my boyfriend was equally as satisfied by his burger. The food here is inspired by the British cuisine, so if you're looking for a typical Portuguese restaurant, this is not the place for you. If you however crave an English breakfast, you'll be happy to find this on the menu.
