O Touro De Alvor — Restaurant in Portimão

Very disappointed in what I thought was going to be a nice meal. Good points first. Our steaks were lovely. Full of flavour and cooked to perfection, med rare. The side of chips were also great but that’s where it ended. The rocket salad had no rocket and was served with a homemade dressing. I poured the orange coloured dressing over the salad but there was an overwhelming taste of celery in it. A real hit or miss for people and I hate celery. The vegetable side was mushrooms and aubergine and a few others. Definitely not my taste and my wife said they tasted all frozen. Finally the starter. Bruschetta rustica. Turns out this is bread with tomato purée, some cheese and oregano, no fresh tomatoes just something you would put up yourself after a night out. A paddy pizza. Service was ok as was the setting and price about right

We had dinner her last night - in time for their pre-7PM specials. Latin board for 2 and the chefs board for 4 and all of us meet lovers were totally sated by the amount and variety and perfectly seasoned cuts of meat. The filet mignon and the linguica were absolutely the highlights. The tapas were the fried calamari (okay) and the mushrooms in sauces and pepper ors was Delicious. Social also provided a bottle of the house white which was pretty good as well. The sauted vegetables were a little overly seasoned but the rest of the appetizers were very good. Definitely worth a visit and if we were here longer would have definitely merited a repeat visit. There's always a next time. I’ve been to this restaurant 3 times in 10 days because it’s soooo good ,even though the food was still excellent tonight I was really frustrated,the youngest waitress had family in tonight (a young girl about 4 yrs old) she neglected her customers and her job by having this little girl in her arms ,even taking her into the kitchen where food was being prepared and served this I definitely do not agree with ,turning people away because the restaurant was full but waited 20 mins after asking for the bill for it to arrive ,this waitress was bad for business and we were not the only ones to notice or comment ,like I say food was still excellent but a very...
